Margin debt is not a one way ride. Just take a look at 2001-2003 ROC.

One of the most important part in trading is trend. If there is trend then most indicators, even the lagging one like MACD works. But if we go flat (sideway) then most of the typical traders are **cked. The Q is - will this be a simple up phase? Based on the macro data and QT etc. Its hard to tell. Im rather in sideway camp.
