DrStool Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Latest Story Good Looking Facade Hides Rot – Professional Edition March 16, 2010 By Lee Adler The Fed’s balance sheet grew minimally last week as it continues to wind down its direct purchase programs. The final $6 billion in GSE purchases will be made over the next 3 weeks. The Fed will also settle roughly $200 billion in MBS purchases over the next 3 months. But that pales in comparison to the $450 to $500 billion in new Treasury supply over the same period. For most of the past year, with the exception of the past month, the Fed has purchased MBS, GSE, and Treasury paper in an amount equal to the amount of new supply offered by the Treasury. That helped keep a lid on yields. Meanwhile, the economic news may continue to look “better” for a while. Federal tax receipts rose in February versus the year ago period for the first time since 2007, indicating that at least things have stopped getting worse for the time being. aussiebear Posted March 17, 2010 Author Report Posted March 17, 2010 Aussiebear - How is your mother?. My prayers for her health to improve. Thanks bd and for the best wishes from other Stoolies. Just had a call from my brother at the hospital to say the skin grafts are in place so we'll see how it goes. The plastic surgeon is reasonably confident about one area but he said the other, a larger section, may not take so well. Mum's confined to bed now for the next four or so days (oh the joy of bedpans)...

K Wave Rider Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Finally got a preliminary sell on VST at about 5:30 AM...now need move below 1156 area for next set of time frames to start to roll... I expect that when it finally comes, it could be a bit bigger move than I was looking for before, as this levitation is a bit overdone...
