DrStool Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 OK. There's no way I'll get a Fed Report out tonight. Sorry. Will be on the road over the weekend, but should have some time to do some writing on Sunday. So game plan calls for posting the report Monday evening if all goes well. Monday is a holiday. Mock it closed. Have a great weak end!
fxfox Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 Dow weekly log chart with log fibo A false break of the downtrend during the week, close belwo the line. Situation looks like like it looked when the 38 fibo was first tested: When white candle above it, then the doji, then it was down. Will that play out again? Why not. But bears must really attack now.
Apogee Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 A quick cross-section of today's closes compared to the closing averages on 12/28 is outright eerie, showing practically NO CHANGE. SPX, COMPQ, RUA, WLSH, QQQQ, INDU....... These 'things' are a huffing and 'da puffing and coming right back to where they all started. We still don't know what the houses are made of, 3 Friday's into the New Year. I think they're all filled with helium balloons, a la PPT, regardless of the walls surrounding them.
Drano Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 They gonna split Berkshire-Hathaway's B shares for more liquidity. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Berkshire-pr...694877.html?x=0 Usually stocks jump on a split -- is this one, coming at this time, really a sign of weakness? Or is the high share price genuinely preventing people from buying?

Jack Sh*t They parked it at $10.06 Anyone want to hazard a guess as to Max Pain? http://www.optionpain.com/OptionPain/Option-Pain.php
Peek Paper Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 Spent most of the week in NYC helping my daughter fix-up her apartment, which is a couple blocks down from the NYSE. Lots more security types scouting the streets than last year at this time, askance glances and Bluetooth earpieces aplenty. Twice as many barricades, too. The place definitely has a Euro-Interpol air to it these days. I found it particularly interesting that the NYSE guards were frisking/carding some of the douches exiting the back door around 4:30. They seemed surprised. I guess it's OK for a floor goon to steal billions, but they must be tight on pencil sharpeners and paper clips. The guys/gals doing God's work in Haiti will need this kind of security help shortly. I spent a month in Port-au-Potty in 1980, a quasi-relief trip with some college students. I've seen a lot to be appalled about in my life, but Haitian poverty has been/is/ will be incredibly over the top. The kids and I got quite a sensory deluge, and all of us were never happier to see a flush toilet than when we got back to Miami. It is the one country I have said I would never go back to, for any reason. Best 'o the long weekend, Stoolies.

While I would never want to wish ill will on anyone After watching Brian Williams, Diane Sawyer and other various filthy animal reporters relishing in the pain & suffering of these victims Let's just say, no tears would be shed in this quarter if they were to suffer some bad luck of their own Some notable semi-quotes from last night: "Oh, Oh, look at all the dead bodies over here at that gas station" "That woman lost her leg but is still alive....eeewwww....all the blood.....yucky" "That man is carrying his dead baby....that's so sad" "Those folks are burying their mother" etc etc etc etc "Assistant !!! Assistant !!!! Get security over here and get me back to the airport, I'm hungry and need a shower !!!"
Charmin Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 That was a Mr. Widget Day 3? The Ghost of January Expirations Past has visited us. The sails just got buffeted from a strong crosswind and we skimmed a sandbar. Anyone thinking our hull has sprung a leak?
