guyb
Isn't the stock market relatively small compared to the bond and currency markets? This is why I don't understand the apparently endless obsession with propping it up at the expense of all else. 630782 Stock market is a real time gauge of consumer confidence. When the markets are high confidence rises and people spend. Market sells off people get nervous. 401K turns into 201 people flip out. Tis the season to consume in mass quantities. cwd
If saving the economy is as simple as freezing soon-to-reset interest rates, why stop there? Why don't we adjust the rates down by a percentage point or two on all the fixed rate loans for 5 years for those people that cannot afford (whatever that means) their current payment? So much for equal rights under the law. 630752 Just wait a few weeks. This is step one. The Dems have not given their plans yet. Bungster
I have no interest in semantics. I am only interested in the direction of price. That's what my analytical work is focused on. Everything else is just yerkinoff.?? ? ? 630795 Repeat after me. Do you see the swinging dongs. Keep your eyes on them. Doc is an expert. Doc is an expert. Now relax, and enjoy the ride. 630801 Some people see dongs everywhere they look! I personally believe they are seeing things! 630815 Sure wish the market would lay off those pills....

Suddenly there's no quote at Schwab, everything else is displaying normally. 630802 Drano, are you using Sreet Smart Pro? 630822 I run both that and Velocity on a second computer. What I notice happening is: first something craps out on Velocity. Then it recovers, and StreetSmart crashes. Very weird but it keeps happening like that.
