Down for the early openers but it could have been worse: Kiwis -0.2%, Aussies -0.8%, Nikkers -0.9% and Sth Korea -1.2%.

All Aussie sectors red: Energy and Gold -1.6%, Miners/Materials -1.5%.

OK team, I'm thinking that the play after the next bear market is to load up on the stable high-dividend blue chips.

JNJ and the like (well, pending Obamacare), KO, etc.

Anyone have any useful thoughts?

I think that the mREITS are dead money now.

Hmmm, the action didn't appear altogether bearish for All Ords which closed -0.8%. Gold -2.4% was the chief loser with Energy next, -1.6%.

Over in Asia, China +0.4%, Honkers +0.1%, Nikkers flat and India closed.

On to UK/Europe:

There is huge gap above 25 that might get filled, if it drops below 23 then there is more downside
