Early openers taking off: Kiwis +0.8%, Aussies +1.1%, Nikkers +1.5% and Sth Korea +0.8%.
Gold +2.2% is the chief mover in the Aussie market followed by Materials +2% and Consumer Discretionary/Miners +1.9%. Telecomms is the only downer, -3%.

All Ords did a pretty good run today, closing +1.4%. The resource sector did particularly well: Gold +2.6% and Materials/Miners +2.3%.
Over in Asia, China +1%, Honkers +0.7% and Nikkers +1.1%.

I was going by this- http://www.cmegroup....sidents-day.pdf Says closed from 10:30 CT to 5 CT which is when the NYSE is normally open 9:30-4 ET.

NQ just barely missed filling the globex gap.
10:30 CT is 11:30 ET, which is when the index futures just closed.
