Yep Caddyshack was a good one. Of course, Trading Places was the best movie of all time in the financial space.

NOBODY believes the market has ANY downside risk. The bots have even convinced bears that we go up,up and away.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Not sure if it is horror or comedy, though.

Decided I needed to see that movie before my first arthroscopic knee surgery... I didn't sleep well that night... :o

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

The first time I saw that was in a total dive movie theatre with a very good friend from high school. Boys day out being goofy. The theatre had aquired a thoroughly scratched up set of ancient been around the continent a few times reels which, when combined their relic projection equipment, made the whole film experience true comedy! We laughed our heads off and others felt more comfortable laughing along with us.

"Let's give 'er to Granpa!"

Watching Granpa revive twitching and flapping his stick arms was truly friggin' hilarious!!!...

We thought half the budget of the film was renting the eighteen-wheeler near the end of the movie and the other half for gas for the chainsaws. Oil crisis 1 and all that.

To this day, it was a one-off cinema experience.

I watched it years later on DVD and that format totally lacked anything and everything of that first experience. It was a whole new movie and not as funny anymore.

I had a similar experience, less the dive movie theater, watching it with some family members. Most of us had not seen it before, including myself. I remember I couldn't stop laughing. Others were not as understanding and were obviously in horror of the chainsaw wielding maniac. My stepmother was wondering why Leatherface always wore that strange mask. What was the point? I told her of the significance and the origin of the mask and her reaction only stoked my laughter further. It amazed me that most of the others could not see the humor in all of this. The last scene involving the semi (the infamous chase scene)was classic.

Maybe a couple of years ago, I watched a documentary of the flick. It was truly interesting as, if my memory is correct, they had a 50K budget. The documentary focused on the limitations of the budget and the special effects that they experimented with. I wish I could of been on that set.
