aussiebear Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Nikkers +3.3% is doing a catch-up after yesterday's holiday but it's fairly ordinary for the rest of the early openers: Kiwis +0.5%, Aussies +0.3%, Sth Korea +0.2% and Singers flat. The only Aussie sectors moving are +1.7% and Telecomms +1.2%. REITS -0.7% is down the most.

IT -0.9% and Energy -0.8% were the chief losers with little movement on the others. Over in Asia, Nikkers is continuing to rise, +4.1%, China +0.2%, Honkers +0.2% and India +1%. On to UK/Europe:

Yesterday I saw CNBS touting a piece that Buffett is in Asia and he's with .............of course... Becky Quick.... This has become weird. Does he carry her around in his back pack? As much as I used to like the guy, I can't stand him now. Ever since he sold out and played footsie with the Squid, he lost all credibility in my eyes.

Fed officials want to keep monetary policy easy to spur economic growth. But as they move toward tightening policy, perhaps later this year or next, sales of mortgage-backed securities are likely to one of the tools they will consider using to tighten financial conditions.
