This market is basically toast IMHO. Nothing backing it up - it has been pure momo for the last few weeks. Bet ya the earnings season will be dismal - how can earnings be good with global trade , us production etc down the crapper? Economy had a brief surge in April-Aug - now we are heading down again from everything I see.

Fed is hamstrung- legislative challenges to its existence, judicial challenges on all fronts. Dollar becoming a serious issue. They will need to take foot off pedal for a while.

Not good for market.

That's a slow ball pitch....

Mr. Widget gave a nice sell signal back there. I haven't had time to pay much attention.

As for my flaming Psyche Doctor, his little "balogne" comment was the trigger in response to my posting a few facts. I was alright up until that point. That lit the fuse and I just went off.

Anyway, still work to do on that. ;)

True - but I think the current situation is very different to 1999. The economy was booming then and the tech stories were truly sexy. So you could almost excuse the youthful enthusiasm. A bit giddy the young things were on champagne!!

Now we have real unemployment of close to 20% and a mania in financials of all things!! Not at all sexy.

No world changing technologies or anything. Just a bunch of dirty, corrupt old men binging on jack Daniels.

Well, I understand that the final ramp in price from Jan-March (a huge advance) was fueled by emergency short hedge fund covering (to the tune of billions of dollars). So it was all price 'set at the margin stuff' rather than anything to do with tech stories.
