Apart from Aussies -0.2% early openers are starting on a positive note: Kiwis +0.7%, Nikkers +1% and Sth Korea +0.7%.

In Aussie sectors, Gold -1.6%, REITS -1.4% and Financials -0.7% with Materials at the top, +0.9%.

RE:I have seen many new accounts from individuals selling mining stocks or ETFs and replacing their paper positions with physical metal. This was a trend that started about 6 months ago. If, in fact, this drop is simply a transition from paper to physical, then watch out. The metal has just moved into stronger hands.

 

Shouldn't they be doing just the opposite?

All Ords closed -0.3% with sectors very much mixed: Gold -4.1% and REITS -2.2% through to Materials +1% and Miners +0.8%.

Asia dipping towards the end of the day: China -0.1%, Honkers -0.5%, India -0.3% and Nikkers +1.6%.

"market" sure seems like it is pushing towards a total blow off.  st. helens type.
