DrStool Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 Wanna have your own website for free? Stoolcities Beta is up in rudimentary form. No User help yet. No user templates yet. And teher will be ongoing improvements. But if you have an html editor and know how to attach a file, even if it's just a plain .txt file, you can have at it. The only rule is that content must be related to financial matters. To start your own site, or just a space for storing your charts, Click Here. Let me hear your suggestions and comments. I'll start a separate thread for that. Once you have opened your Stoolcities account, to access your control panel go to http://stoolcities.capitalstool.com/cgi-bi...in/easyhost.cgi

Thanks
DrStool Posted May 29, 2003 Author Report Posted May 29, 2003 No, but I can add them. I used to publish with FP. Then I stopped. It's really a bit of a pain. The extensions don't do all that mcuh. In most cases you can create the page in FP, save it, and ftp it to the site and it will do the same things.

Guest Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 I had exactly the same problem. The validation code consists of digits only - yet it is not accepted, because it "contains invalid characters". Also, during the registration process, the country selector hasn't heard of Iceland. Shame, shame. Regards, Vesselin
DrStool Posted May 29, 2003 Author Report Posted May 29, 2003 I am going to have the developer look at this. He is still writing the final version of the software. Tanks for your patience and for reporting these issues.
blackbelt Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 Doc, Can you please enable FTP uploading of the files. I tried to connect using FTP and it doesn't recognize me
DrStool Posted May 29, 2003 Author Report Posted May 29, 2003 The developer is working on enabling ftp access. I'll post when that's available. The validation bug will also be repaired shortly. User templates will be added. There will be a directory of sites. Write a nice description for your site! I think we'll call the directory Stoolhootoo. Let me know if you have a better idea. Other features will be added. Feel free to make suggestions, report bugs and give other feedback. Keep in mind that this is in Beta. The software developer will be reading this thread, so be nice. Many tanks. Doc
blackbelt Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Doc or the developer The site automatically adds Doc's banner at the top. I developed a site which uses frames and I tried to upload it only to find out that the banner is added on each panel of the frame. Can you alter the code to make sure that you add Doc's banner only at the top of the page? I have in mind to post a lot of stuff and having a site based on frames will be very helpful. Thanks Can you please let me know if this can happen or not, so I know how to procceed?
DrStool Posted May 30, 2003 Author Report Posted May 30, 2003 Frames based sites could be a problem in easyhost. I may need to host something for you outside of the easyhost.cgi framework. You could post your index with it so that you're listed in the directory, and the rest of the site in a separate folder. Let's see what he says.
