Sovereign bond issuance will drive sovereign govvie yields up, and weaker sovereign credits are going to get the divine hammer. Corporate credits, both IG and HY will follow as taxes rates rise. Any improvement in top line will likely be insufficient to avoid higher default rates. There will be little residual earnings, so equities will get the crushed. OTOH, the Fed has kept the juggler's balls twirling in the air before, for as long as 4-1/2 years, from March 2003 to October 2007 & it is possible they could do something like that again, once we reach some kind of double bottom from March 2009. Hankie and I are going to buy it if it hits SP 666, but it probably won't go that low again until after the major implosion that is years away I'll bet. Zero Hedge is always bearish no matter what. They R right that the world economy does indeed s*ck in many ways. But then, as Doc reminds us, the stock market doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the economy.
