Don't disagree with the overall sustainability but I have found specific use cases where AI is useful and does increase productivity. Namely, summarizing 1000+ page documents of text that I have neither the time or patience to read. Last year I used it to figure out why my business tax software was flagging items on my return. It was able to parse the software instructions as well as the IRS instructions on that form, and give me a reason why things weren't lining up. Saved me a few hours... but as always, trust but verify. I suspect over time the areas where it is useful will bubble up to the surface and hopefully the areas where it is not (ahem...AI generated video and memes) go away forever.
