Guest
SADDAM'S 'STROKE' It's amazing how the smallest syringe full of just the right combination of undetectable yet deadly toxins can render a human being unable to communicate in any way as his body slowly fades away. Now I ask you, who has the most to gain from his inability to speak at trial? Now do you see the size of the game we are in the midst of? You really want to bet short against these guys? This one's for ALL the marbles. Saddam will die within a matter of days - due to 'Natural Causes." Of course.: SADDAM'S 'STROKE' Jul 28 2004 Ex-dictator's lawyer says he had brain scan and could die Exclusive By Gary Jones In Amman, Jordan SADDAM Hussein has suffered a minor stroke and could die before his trial, his defence lawyers claim. The multinational legal team is still awaiting permission to visit the deposed Iraqi ruler. A letter demanding their doctor be given access to the former dictator was yesterday sent by Jordanian lawyer Mohammed al-Rashdan to Salem Chalebi, the head of the Iraqi prosecuting authorities. Mr al-Rashdan said: "Our information is that he's in very poor health. We understand from the International Committee of the Red Cross that our client has had a brain scan to discover how badly he has been affected by the stroke. We believe he could die because of his health problems. "We also think an attempt may be made on his life. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/allnews/tm_ob...-name_page.html

Guest
Plunger, No conspiracy, just an old man with a health problem. 39 minutes ago BAGHDAD, Iraq - Deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein suffers from a chronic prostate infection and has refused to have a biopsy to rule out any chance he has cancer, an Iraqi official said in an interview Thursday on Al-Jazeera television. X-rays and blood tests carried out by U.S. military doctors did not show anything more serious than the infection and Saddam seemed to be in good health otherwise, Iraqi Human Rights Minister Bakhtiar Amin said. He said blood tests came back negative for cancer, but officials wanted to take a biopsy to be safe. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...saddam_s_health http://breakingnews.nypost.com/dynamic/sto...EMPLATE=DEFAULT

Guest
Year-Over-Year CEO pay up 22% last year to $4.2 million- while the average worker's pay increased 2%...which, adjusted for inflations, is actually a decrease. Welcome to the end of the American Dream.
Guest
Canadian sent to Syrian prison disputes U.S. claims against torture Posted on Thursday, July 29 @ 10:25:25 EDT By Shannon McCaffrey, Knight Ridder Newspapers OTTAWA - When memos surfaced recently showing top Justice Department lawyers trying to justify torture, Attorney General John Ashcroft moved quickly to stake out the moral high ground. "This administration rejects torture," Ashcroft told the Senate Judiciary Committee. "I condemn torture." Maher Arar, 34, however, doesn't buy it. For 10 months and 10 days, Arar was in a Syrian prison, beaten and confined to a cell not much bigger than a coffin. He thanks the United States for his time in hell. Arar was picked up by U.S. authorities at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, accused of being a terrorist and then shipped on Justice Department orders to Syria under a highly secret policy known as rendition. Arar's story reveals much about the Bush administration's hidden war on terror. "I think when they say they do not support torture, they are not being truthful," the Syrian-born telecommunications engineer said in an interview in Ottawa. "Whether they admit or not, they are complicit." In the wake of the abuse scandal at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq and the firestorm over government memos that provide a road map around international treaties banning torture, scrutiny of the government's war on terrorism has increased. Arar provides a rare glimpse into one of its darkest corners. http://www.smirkingchimp.com/article.php?s...=nested&order=

Guest
We all know that nobody in the US Admin and others want to hear Sadaam testify. It is not in their best interests, if ya get my drift. The historical record is there, but it will be ignored/hidden unless Sadaam chooses to make an issue of what they did to him and his country in the past. He was an assh*le, but he was OUR assh*le. Think about all those good profits that our companies raked in due to this hush-hush relationship. I shall never ever forget April Gillespie, the US Ambassador to Iraq just before the 1991 invasion of Iraq. She told Sadaam the US didnt care about Kuwait. WHAMMO!! she delivered her msg, Washington changed their mind (or did they) and April was suddenly recalled and put into "isolation." I am very fed up with all this business of conflicting stories. If Sadaam dies, then I think that it is what is desired by those in charge. Just my humble opinion Sherlock
Madame Wrecked Him
Saddam's day: gardening, reading and eating muffins http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,1269178,00.html Saddam Hussein is spending his time in solitary confinement writing poetry, gardening, reading the Qur'an and snacking on American muffins and cookies. Maybe they plan on feeding him to death! For relaxation there are no newspapers, TV or radio, but there are 145 books - mainly novels and travel books - donated by the Red Cross, which visits the detainees every six weeks. What does the Red Cross think he needs travel books for, I've been wondering all week since reading that piece.
