Roach: Blame China A repost of a timely article Fukui-san posted on M2M. In my view, Roach underestimates Chinese companies such as Haier (white goods) and Apex (electronics) but it's a very good article.

machinehead
whats your take on China trading all there dollars for gold? Mark mentioned this.Doesnt China still have a huge counterfeiting problem? For one thing, China would pop its domestic bubble if they stop pumping ... same as here. Bad loans would drag banks under. Second, if China sterilizes dollar inflows by buying gold instead of T-bonds, the dollar weakens and renminbi is forced up ... nightmare for the export sector. For now, it seems that the bubble machine suits all parties. But the other parties are asking China to accept a smaller take. In effect, the jewelry thieves want to renegotiate the split-up of the loot, after pulling off the big job. It's a high stakes game of chicken. If anyone squeals, the cops roll in and haul everybody away.
