C*N*B*C CUTS 'BUSINESS CENTER'
By TIM ARANGO
November 25, 2003 -- Business news network Crapvision is axing its "Business Center" program to make way for a new show starring comedian Dennis Miller.
Beginning Dec. 8, Crapvision's "Kudlow & Cramer" will switch from 8 p.m. to 5 p.m.
"Business Center" anchors Ron Insana and Sue Herera will switch to new programs. Insana will anchor a new show beginning at 2 p.m., while Herera will join anchor Bill Griffeth on "Power Lunch."
Miller's show will debut early next year at 9 p.m.
With the moves, Crapvision appears to be modeling itself after Fox News, the cable news network ratings leader, which relies on a steady diet of talk-oriented shows.
(Fox News is owned by News Corp., which also owns The Post.)
The Crapvision moves mark a cable news shift away from hard-news business shows. Earlier this year CNN remodeled "Lou Dobbs' Moneyline," broadening the show's range of subject matter and changing the name to "Lou Dobbs Tonight."
