The companion way hatch is all stainless steel and literally water and bullet proof.

 

 

Here you can see the route of the jib sheet, back to a block on the rail near the stern then back to the two cocked winches on the mast. First thing I'm going to do is move the winches back to the cockpit, and eventually the staysail sheet as well.
