dozer Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Voters comin' outta the woordwork..not good fur BushCo..methinks Hope you are right or tomorrow is the beginning of an era of darkness. Still shocked its even a race. Watch them flagpole this pig into late afternoon and then ram it in the last 30 minutes just to sway some undecided voters Good luck to all tomorrow Should be interesting Still shocked that there weren't impeachment proceedings and a warcrimes trial. If the Dems manage to lose, then they deserve to be discredited forever as incompetent collaborateurs. well said Greg. Drano, I hear ya, there's been a -lot- of bizarre wording in our wonderful media lately... ahhh...here's another 50 cents off the price of earl.... Iraqi Rebels Bomb Baghdad Ministry, Hit Oil Sector Reuters - 1 hour ago Rebels bracing for a US-led assault on their Falluja and Ramadi strongholds showed their muscle Tuesday with a bloody car bombing in Baghdad, strikes on oil pipelines and several attacks on Iraqi security forces.

Jimi Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Brian, did you get one of those new Diebold PC's ?? From Sudaca, in IDS this morn... "Shorting the Supreme Court here..." LOU, nicely put indeed. But I do think you stated something as if it's a fact which is actually not true; in regards to: "...and it did make a difference...causing other candidates to heed this segment..." (paraphrased). No, it did -not- make a difference, and that's the whole point. LOU, if it -had- mattered, then we would NOT be where we are today, right? In reality, the trend and course of the 2-party shell game has not varied a bit for over 30 yrs now; regardless of who voted, who was nominated, who was in power, etc.. Yobob said it crystal-clear, but now I'm not sure his words were really taken in. And Jimi, I love ya bro, but that one wasn't very funny. Maybe you missed what I said. I HAVE participated; for 30 very frustrating years dude. And libertarians in general have invested and risked far far more than 99.9% of the rep/dem voters ever have. We did a helluva lot more than just take an hour off work to vote for the same ol' scam once in a while. We spent our own money and disturbed our own lives to field restrained, sanity-based, policies and candidates for state legislatures, local offices etc.. I don't see the "indignant whining" in saying this. I just see a statement of fact bro. The record is pretty clear. If the dems had kept their own party sane and honest, instead of letting it become a clone of the other....if the dems hadn't -themselves- trashed Dean and put in such an obvious matrix-front like Kerry; maybe they'd -have- that 1-2% more vote they need right now, hmmm ?? Why focus today's too-late fear and anger on the libs and naders? Put the blame where it belongs man. I would also note that many 3rd-party stoolies are NOT in a state or county where it'd make a damn bit of difference anyway; so just on that basis alone, it's a bit unfair to blanket-condemn all of them, imho. Remember that MH said his county was TEN to one....and mine is just as bad the other way. Our votes truly, factually, no matter how much you want the resulting mess to be our fault, do NOT make a difference today. Sorry, but that's just the plain truth. Love ya all, but let's stay realistic about where we are, how we got here, and which herds/voters must finally and honestly accept the responsibility for it before we'll ever have any change for the better. ...and...here's to shrubya gettin' creamed anyway! "drif-ting....on a sea.... of for-got-ten tear drops...." I was just sort of poking at y'alls for poking sakes. Like I confessed earlier, I felt the same way in 2000, when the two major candidates seemed to be one guy who was smart but insisted on pretending he was dumb, and another guy who was dumb who insisted on pretending he was smart. I didn't vote. I still regret it. I have this naive idealistic childish idea that massive voter turnout this year will put all the self-serving self-dealing sumbiches on abrupt notice... that Americans will awake from a half-century slumber to realize that they own this system, and those who tinker with it will be dealt with. But then, if I lose a tooth, I'd probably still stick it under my pillow....

Butterfield 8 Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Just returned from the polls. Of 800 registered voters in my NYC district (heavily Dem); 366 votes recorded at 1:00. Assume another 200 minimum after work, that is 65%. normal turnout, for a presidential election here. no surge. If you don't vote you send a message- that you are unconcerned and/or pleased with current policy. I hope the non-voters will reconsider. It may be puny. or useless. but it is all we got. Write in Ron Paul. or Noam Chomsky. somebody. For those who think there is no difference between Bush/ Kerry - on some issues, perhaps. But a year from now when they take your guns under the newly imposed martial law, I think you will concede that was an incorrect assumption

RockLedge Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 If the dems had kept their own party sane and honest, instead of letting it become a clone of the other....if the dems hadn't -themselves- trashed Dean and put in such an obvious matrix-front like Kerry; maybe they'd -have- that 1-2% more vote they need right now, hmmm ?? Damn straight. Kerry's statement in early August that he would have voted for the Iraq resolution -- even KNOWING that there were no WMD's -- infuriated me. He's no 'alternative' to Bush ... he's a clone. That's why I take delight in trashing him and his sellout, warmonger, "bring back the draft" party, right along with Bush. As Doug Thompson put it yesterday -- Voting is a sham, an exercise in deception designed to perpetuate the myth that an average American has any say in how this country is governed or what happens to you and me in the future. America's current system of government is a bloated, aging, belching sow - laid low by decades of corruption, deceit and inaction. The sow is non-partisan, willing to wallow in the mud under a Democratic or Republican flag. It exists only to feed on the gullibility of Americans. You can't fix it in the voting booth. You can't eradicate it by continuing to support a political system that thrives on it. Go ahead, waste your time and vote The common white folk are slowly getting a good taste of just how things really work here in the good ole red, white & blow. Native American's, African American's, & Mexican American's are saying,.. "See,.. I told you so." Bumber stickers... All I have to say to folks that support the war,.. is GO & SUPPORT THE WAR... no cheerleaders, just go, sign up for 3, 4 or 6 years and support your war., right here, right now.

Drano Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Oil is going green Sounds like the first line of a haiku, Here's the second line: "See all those divergences?" Someone want to contribute the third line?
Butterfield 8 Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Who would give the order? Bush. Not Kerry's style. Who would carry it out? Don't know. Never been under martial law. National Guard? Local Police? State police? Anybody here been under martial law in another country?
