phatbubble Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 ditto dsm, doc. can't say it enough - you've created an extraordinary thing. was thinking of your comment today on how the SPX is easier (or something, right?) to chart - any time you feel it appropriate to make a distinction between SPX & QQQ in the half-hourly updates would be super helpful. i trade mostly SPX and can't be the only one. also, great idea to have a tally of people who've donated. what about making it a running daily total? this'll generate way more awareness & group participation in making sure you get what you need. cheers phat
longOnUranus Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 count me in, el doctoro. I'm serious about helping w/ your costs; however, someone got access to my MasterCard number and has made unauthorized transactions; we are changing the account today. Thanks for your efforts, without them I would be one broke and lonely POS.
phatbubble Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 18 feb - love the bigger charts and the insightful & hilarious annotations. do miss the commentary, though, as far as your intraday expectations - e.g. "if this doesn't turn down soon, etc. etc." - that stuff's really helpful too.
DrStool Posted February 18, 2003 Author Report Posted February 18, 2003 I will be commenting on the charts more. Saves a lot of time.
tarrbabycn Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Really like your half hour comments. Comments on the charts good too, but cryptic. As a beginner I need more help. I did make one contribution and would pay for subscription for stooltrader notes.I hope as a compromise you would at least make notes when things are tough like the past two days. Chuck
Bird D Durr Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Doc, I am a big fan of your textual comments.................please don't abolish them..................... They really help many non-sophisticated stoolies who aren't yet pro chartists............. At the very least if not every half an hour, how about hourly or bi-hourly.................... -Bird D. Durr
DrStool Posted February 19, 2003 Author Report Posted February 19, 2003 I will try to add more chart comments without cluttering them up too much. It's almost insane trying to keep up doing both along with watching the board. I'm not one of those people who can scratch and chew gum at the same time.
phatbubble Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 It's almost insane trying to keep up doing both along with watching the board. I'm not one of those people who can scratch and chew gum at the same time. i'm sure it is doc - i've sometimes wondered how manic an effort it requires. sure appreciate it. i found your 'rolling half-hourly commentary' invaluable on the occasions that i was looking to open or close a position during a given day....whether you expected a short cycle to top or turn, what you expected later if it were stronger or weaker than anticipated, all that....i'd be there hitting 'refresh' at x:29 and x:59 to see if you'd posted the latest yet. invaluable. did i say that already? edit: after reading strider's post i realized what i left out. if/when you go to paid stooltrading....with the half-hourly commentary i'll subscribe (in addition to the anals); without the commentary, maybe, but probably not.
strider Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 I agree with the last post, Doc. Haven't quite got used to the new system yet, and really miss the commentary that went with the written comments. Is there a halfway house between the two if you feel the "old" system was too much? I like the chart annotations as it helps me spot exactly what you see, but miss the written word on how you feel it will progress.... Would definitely subscribe if you could incorporate both somehow - not sure if I would for the system as it stands - although I am a subscriber to the Anals Keep up the good work...
DrStool Posted February 20, 2003 Author Report Posted February 20, 2003 Today, I'll try something new again. I will continue with the chart comments, and will add narrative commentary on an unscheduled basis. This will allow me some leeway with time, and at the same time give you a heads up as to expectations. This may or may not be a stisfactory compormise. Again, I appreciate the Feedback. This is still an experiment.
Goldmember Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 I'm speechless, and at a complete loss for words.........wow! sign me up!
Bird D Durr Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 Doc, Just wanted to mention that your narrative comments, once or twice a day, are very much appreciated...................Thanks for the effort............it is very much appreciated. Referrals for new subscribing stoolies are imminent. Be on the look out. -The Birdman
ChainGangOf22 Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Doc, Thanks for the incredible effort in keeping the charts up-to-date and providing commentary as well today. The charts are great and I think I'm getting better at interpreting them, but your comments are priceless to me. I know it's a lot of work, but they make a big difference. Either way, I'm a subscriber when you're ready.
strider Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Doc, Loved the new system yesterday - worked very well for me. Things seemed to gel much better wth the structure of explanatory comments (with lots of meat) at set times, juxtaposed with quick updates on the charts as necessary Would definitely subscribe if the system stays as is - best yet! Thanks
Optionsguy Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 Doc, I just joined yesterday. I love your daily (intra-day) service. I was short the sp futures overnight. Instead of panicking at the open, I simply waited until the decline around 10 am to cover. Now I'm looking into re-shorting at higher prices. This gives value to your service: Knowing before things happen. Keep up the good work. OG.
