ThorAss Posted August 18, 2004 Report Share Posted August 18, 2004 I would like to insert a chart in here and assert once again that there is no Gold Bull and never has been. If gold were in a bull market in its own right it would be moving up against fiat currencies ... all fiat currencies. It is not. It is moving up against the US dollar and the US dollar is moving down against the Euro and over many timeframes gold is going nowhere aginst the Euro. The same is true for the Zow it just has more leverage. So basically most of your TA could be focussed on the Euros performance against the $ as to whether it would be a good time to buy almost any basket of gold stocks. If your TA leads you to believe Euro GOING UP then restrict your stock analysis to the high beta miners as they will outperform. If the Euro is GOING DOWN then get short or get out. You can see from the chart that one could have done as well by simply buying Euro contracts or switching from a US denominated deposit to a US$ as with gold stocks (again over many timeframes). True that one could use the mid 99 low as well but in US$ terms things continued pretty bearish for the POG and the PMS until the dates noted above. Also the initial spike out of that low took us to within 6% of where we are now. We are about even with the PMS low point and up about 10% from the Apr 01 retest low. Overall not a whacko bull. As I was looking at DrAu's charts I again focused on the LT POG chart. And nothing has changed. We still continue to play out in a way that suggests a high for gold in the 410 to 420 range sometime in Sept followed by lower and lower and lower prices for years to come. Only thing that could stop it is prices rising (well Duh!) I don't call myself bearish on gold just no longer and not yet bullish. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Just yesterday I drove on my cyberscooter there, and found there one of the most impossible formats I ever seen. I noticed a few gold goobers, but could not get used to the way the site was designed. Then I drove to another yahoo Board, but that was truly sad. If you'd drop the wholy grail there, they would play soccer with it. This is still the best place I think. Any thoughts? This way, we (from the early shift) have a chance to contribute to something that lasts a bit longer than moments. We also might have a page filled (albeit with BS) before the market opens. The Ozzie's are now number 2 on the Olympic medal list. I remember that sport is truly a big deal in Australia. The monster race was obviousely between Phelps and Thorpe.
