Isle of View Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 Doc,from whence cometh the story about the FED ballooning the money supply?I thought that your charts says they ain't. Brown ?un In my view Doc is being characteristically nice and diplomatic in his reply to your question. The fact is that many, many bearish poodits on the internet appear to be engaging in the cult of blaming the Fed for everything. Russell is obviously not stupid but when this mantra is repeated endlessly it has an alarming habit of becoming deeply ingrained in the psyche which is why I took issue with some of Russell?s completely misleading remarks a while ago. The reason for this situation is not hard to identify; there is a vehement hardcore cadre of rightwing free market zealots like that nitwit Nelson Hultberg whose blind, dogmatic devotion to some kind of abstract and absurd concept of the ?free market? causes them to mindlessly condemn anything not born of this homespun castle in the sky As opposed to those paragons of financial sobriety and transparency, the GSE's Government Sponsored Enterprises one of the major contributors to M3 and overall liquidity and generators of the current US real estate bubble.

Tanks IoV.Surely this will now be tapering off with the large reduction in refi's. Or is this caused by the high percentage of ARMS now being taken? BTWFWIW--ARM in Dutch means poor!
