Guest Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 From anecdotage.com: While working in Paris in 1949, Brendan Behan - a housepainter by trade - was asked to paint a sign on the window of a cafe to attract English tourists. Behan kindly complied, composing a short poem: Come in, you Anglo-Saxon swine And drink of my Algerian wine! 'Twill turn your eyeballs black and blue, And damn well good enough for you! Having received payment for the job, Behan fled before the cafe's proprietor had time to have the rhyme translated. [Perhaps unsurprisingly, Behan was later imprisoned (twice) for IRA-related political offenses.] Behan, Brendan (1923-1964), Irish playwright [noted for his affiliation with the Irish Republican Army (from 1937), and for such works as The Quare Fellow (1956), The Hostage (a song and dance farce set in a brothel, 1958), Brendan Behan?s Island: an Irish Sketch-Book (1962) and his autobiographical Borstal Boy (1958)] IMPORTANT NOTICE For the benefit of those of you who wish to avoid Obi-Wan's lightsaber at 12:45 PM (Hi, Vesselin!), he generally makes his appearance a few seconds after that time according to This Clock
PDoody Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 Yes Missmoney she did warm the heart of my cockle but wo is she? I'll stop this silliness now.
GregFokker Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 Behan sounds like a real winner, a great (t)wit who could spin a rhyme. Too bad he didn't run for office
Contrarian Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 closed shorts at current (12:30) levels - should have earler t'day per Doc's cmaps but was too greedy  between opex week & bottom of trading range I don't have much conviction - but will look to reload shorts when an opportunity presents

PDoody Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 That's great Gladiator, how about John Cleese (MontyP of course) doing the Belgian to English translation at the tobacconist.
sniff Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 anything can happen in scam week, but I still watch the charts. Might catch them trying to pull a sneeky. For Bontchev, I think that would mean an unnatual act..... or something like that..
DrStool Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 Your mid day Anals. Where do you want to go today?
rog Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 HAL settles asbestos claims for $2.75B in cash and 59m shares of stock. Positive for the market, but I think the whole division cost less than $1B when they bought it.
Hoodwinked Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 PDoody this one is for you to go with the videos
Jorma Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 Sox hit the bottom @ 300 and flatlined, while everything else started a little bounce. Cannot recall ever seeing anything like it. Then again MU hasn't seen a price like this for a very very long time.
Guest Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 Meta, 1355.55 is 100% Fibo retracement support now, after the bounce - but it wasn't any meaningful Fibo level before the bounce, so it couldn't have caused it. Maybe they just took her 5 points below the 50-dma to collect some stops. Regards, Vesselin
ThorAss Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 I believe that was from the Hungarian-English dictionary you Anglo-Saxon swine. Would you like to come up to my room, bouncy, bouncy?
