simple guy Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 The fact that everyone JUMPS on the shorting wagon immediately should give pause to bears... you need to see BEAR crapitulation in the form of a nasty P/C at below .50, on an up date. Then a reversal to high P/C the following day to reverse the trend. Yesterdays mammoth gains I had were wiped out this morning, and I covered at 1045, perhaps stupid... but there is plenty of money to be made when the real wave 3 starts, even if I get in a tad late...
Bird D Durr Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 A good day to reload back into BEARX....................... See, there is something to be thankful about today........................
DrStool Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 Here it is with the 6 minute bars an the high due now.
Yoshaviah Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 Buck looks like Charlie Atlas today. But of course he is on the roids.
anoscope Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 guess I was fortunate to still be locked out of my 401k account and its 1000 bby shares, cause I would have sold em long ago. Shaeffer's (spell?) seems to imply manipulation of the stock and a more than doubling of the jan 27.5 calls at 2.20 overnight, implying a price exceeding 30 in jan. someone knows something. I don't know the significance of the tagging of the order as 'late' though. I read somewhere that the stage managers can short at will, but maybe that is just when they are writing puts... dunno.
Bird D Durr Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 Doc, "High" is the perfect word for right now................. Because who ever is buying these tulips must be high............................. I wonder what they smoke........................ That's right!..............Greenscam and Andrea roll it for them...................
Guest AssMaster Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 PileDriver: What do you think of BPNDX? $BPNDX Rather toppy for the large caps.
Rockhead Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 The uptick rule is an exchange rule, and should apply to all participants. SHOULD! Yeah, and they SHOULD be required to post real offers only on the Level II. And they SHOULD be required to make only instanteous fills, not 17 seconds (I think that is the value) before they decide to take your bid/offer. Sorry, Level II is not real time...its slightly delayed real time for us. The MMs of NAZ stocks have a distinct advantage in lots of areas. Use the damn ECNs to eliminate some of their advantages if possible.
Guest Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 unconfirmed: TD Waterhouse borker claimed bush is trying to get a stimlus package passed by the house and senate. in mid january. Also read major tax code shake-up is in the works, may move to a consumption tax to replace the income tax to encourage savings - can anyone say 'deflation'.
anoscope Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 I'm still underwater on my S shorts, but the price is red so far today. PE under 6, and market up 200+ and sears is down .14 marker s&p\933.66
PileDriver Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 And I agree with you too Doc. This is such a pain in the keester.
DrStool Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 ano- I'm talking about tactics. Market makers can't exactly short when all their customers are on the sell side. They short when the public is buying lopsidedly like today. This is when market insders are building their short postions. When guys like you and me are panicking out of ours. But again. they can afford to ride out the hump being short. We can't. But we have the advantage of smaller size which allows us to get short after the market has rolled over. So, Pile and SG are right in the sens that it pays to wait for the turn. Others who are shorting see this as a low risk entry and are willing to be patient and I agree at the moment.
Stutz Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 SPX MACD crossover @ 933.96. Doc, sometimes you're scary! Sorry. Jinxed it I guess.
Takachi Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 oops - 10 yr at 4.21 up .15 dollar at 106.89 I remain convinced this is contrived at least in part to facilitate some degree of repatriation.
