Charmin Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 Yeah, but what can you do in Quebec on a cold night anyway - park yourself in front of a warm flame - cold enough here in New Hampshire London will be calling soon enough Mr. Schwartz noticed a trend change in the UK - real estate = are we next? http://www.schwartztrends.com/pages/column.html
Guest Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 A shortened trading day because of Easter weekend but happy to report the market was unmistakably bearish. Most of Asia red too. It looks like the action on the All Ords has now produced a double top so if we retrace the recent rally there'll be some good shorting ahead. Reckon the charts will show some vicious technical breakdowns based on today's action. Oyster mentioned last night that Europe was left high and dry because they rallied in expectation of US upside so they will be playing catchup at 3 am. Actually the Footsie dropped fairly early but the DAX was down only slightly so expecting a nasty drop on the latter at open.
Oyster Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 OK here we go.....I showed yesterday mornin the DOW here and reasons why I thought a MAJOR top basis 3m and NECKLINE MONTHLY kiss Dow........and we fell sharply....IT IS MY BELIEF WE HAVE THE CATALYST FOR MAJOR FALLS HERE LED BY DOW......which has been left behind........NOW SOX...THE LEADER OF THE PACK YESTERDAY AND MY THOUGHTS.....Lets not get too excited here......Major weekly gann resistence and MAJOR LOW RISK SELL yesterday CLOSE....If we clear the resistence then something else...IF NOT WATCH OUT BELOW...... In summing up there is NO WAY I want to be long this stuff....trying to finesse the small waves from here within the LARGE picture and the train may leave the station without you.........Above resistence then plenty time to get in.......
alceringa Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 Actually I used to work in the SOX industry. Bailed out of my last "in the money" company stock options right around the 650 mark on the chart above in early 2002. Co-workers thought I was insane. Don't really know what they think now, since almost all of them are out of work. Meanwhile, Uncle Buck doesn't look like he's going to have a good day today. Kinda sad to see the old fellow take such a beating.
Guest Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 Looks like some heavy trading going on with pog....not much of a price move yet but could be working up to something explosive..

Oy -----That is a scary chart if you are long the chip sector. Chips have reminded me of when I was young and would hanging around a bar. There would be a girl with a nice bod and a sweet smile all alone at the bar. I would strike up a conversation and buy her a couple of drinks... Soon we were both dazzled by my charm and wit. I would confidently consider those drinks an investment in the future he he. Invariably I would leave my pile of cash on the bar and excuse myself to the restroom. And when I returned I would find her boyfriend had just arrived and the party was over for me
OceanBound Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 Ned, investing in the future is not an easy business! Your story makes me smile Next time just go for the shorts!
Oyster Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 DAX Market could get ugly here if the bully boyz don't take us up NOW....well....you know which way I am betting.
Oyster Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 Ned...beautiful story....had to chuckle to myself...it's tough out there....also for me......but we are the lucky ones.......
