Takachi-1 Posted December 10, 2024 Report Posted December 10, 2024 Those are pretty awful renewal ratings. Who would start with if you saw those numbers.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? It's a product of the same revolution that birthed the US. Only it evolved into a much more civilized humane country. Now, perhaps you mean that the US is also a Rube Goldberg contraption. Or the UK is a Rube Goldberg contraption. Or France, or Germany. Or virtually any country. Most involve fractious political coalitions or totalitarian control. Japan is an exception. A few others maybe. I really hope that you were kidding with that statement.

Canada is functionally like the rest of the worlds developed democratic nations but technically the sovereign of Canada is the King of England. Canada is a Constitutional Monarchy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monarchy_of_Canada https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_sovereignty What it all means is pretty much nothing. Sort of a trivia question. Which doesn't preclude Alberta bidding to become a US State someday.
potatohead Posted December 11, 2024 Report Posted December 11, 2024 this is not a joke, she actually just said this. US TREASURY SECRETARY YELLEN: I AM CONCERNED ABOUT FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY, DEFICITS NEED TO BE BROUGHT DOWN. What I have learned from Lee and his liquidity reports is that, she was instrumental in continuing the spending and pushing markets higher by shortening up duration and creating insta-cash with those T-Bills.

It's pretty easy to say when your not Treasury Secretary in 25. Obviously she was constrained from saying so the last 4 years. The perfect object lesson into why our institutions are failing us so badly. She lost me years ago when she supported the Fed purchasing stocks. I don't remember when or what circumstance but there is no recovering from that. Of course that's an antiquated idea now. The Fed must buy crypto now obviously.
