I'm watching the dollar, should tell you all you need to know about the equity markets.

How so? There's no consistent correlation between them. The dollar is a measure of effect of cross border trade and investment, including speculation, and relative fiscal and monetary policy. It typically reflects which central bank is tighter or looser relative to the other.  The dollar doesn't drive trends. It is a barometer of relative pressure.

I've just never been able to see a predictive link flowing from the dollar to anything else.

The equity market is currently looking for guidance on the feds loosing or tightening.  That will be reflected in the dollar.  I believe the forex market will lead the equity market on this one.

I disagree again. 😊

We have no idea whatsoever what the equity market is looking for. The market is a liquidity barometer. Traders trade based on how much cash they have in their accounts.  Whatever they supposedly "think" about the market is an excuse. And it changes day to day.

News is noise.

The pop in the market when J. Powell spoke is just a coincidence?

Dollar Down, Yields Down, Equities Up... looks like some connection.

No. It was just the trigger. The technical signs coming in were leaning bullish. He just fired the starter pistol.
