Guest Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 From hubblesite.org: . Hubble Watches Galaxies Engage in Dance of Destruction NASA's Hubble Space Telescope is witnessing a grouping of galaxies engaging in a slow dance of destruction that will last for billions of years. The galaxies are so tightly packed together that gravitational forces are beginning to rip stars from them and distort their shapes. Those same gravitational forces eventually could bring the galaxies together to form one large galaxy. The name of this grouping, Seyfert's Sextet, implies that six galaxies are participating in the action. But only four galaxies are on the dance card. The small face-on spiral with the prominent arms of gas and stars is a background galaxy almost five times farther away than the other four. Only a chance alignment makes it appear as if it is part of the group. The sixth member of the sextet isn't a galaxy at all but a long "tidal tail" of stars [below, right] torn from one of the galaxies.

strikerm3 Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 futures seem to temporarily go up on reports of more surrenders. It has backed off now. It might give us a good idea of how to trade today!
DrStool Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 How I love when people twist my words. I didn't say you couldn't talk about stocks less than $5.00. Someone broght up a stock selling for four cents. I said I don't want any discussions of penny stocks. A $5 stock is not a penny stock. If it's listed on the exchages it's not a problem. If it's a former big cap, not a problem. $5 stock not a problem. I'm tired of people who can't restrain themselves from troublemaking. There are only a handful of them. From now on, I am simply going to block their access with no further warning. Nothing is more annoying than people lying about something I have said. I don't have time to be constantly issuing rebuttals to such nonsense. The guillotine is about to fall. Off with their heads!

DrStool Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Some of you may have missed the story of Doc's adventure going long yesterday as reported in M2M. Being a long time bear, this was a frightening and unnnatural experience. Here, in Doc's own words is the true story: I had a perfect entry with the dong. Right at the V shaped bottom around 2:30. It started going up real nice, but being I was so scared, when she gave it a little shake around 3 o'clock, I couldn't hold it any more. I was just too nervous. So I pulled out of the position and relaxed. Damn if the thing didn't shoot right back up as soon as I pulled out. Went even higher than when I first got in. Being both old, inexperienced, and nervous with holding a dong position, it was hard, and I just couldn't keep it up for more than 20 minutes. If I ever try to do it again, next time, I'll try to have a little extra cushion before I go in.

Being a long time bear, this was a frightening and unnnatural experience. Sounds like what respectable suburbanites with 'no priors' say when hauled before the court on a vice charge: 'I don't know what came over me, Your Honor. I just ... wasn't myself. It was a frightening and unnatural experience. I've learned my lesson, and I'll never do it again.' Don't call it an 'adventure' Doc; it shows a lack of contrition and a risk of recidivism.
