machinehead
"The U.S. government slapped new punitive duties on imports of Canadian wheat Tuesday ... Tuesday's countervail wheat duties come about a year after the U.S. Commerce Department imposed punishing 27 per cent duties on Canada's softwood lumber exports ..." Lovely day for a trade war, eh? Goldmember
Yep! We saw this coming awhile ago didn't we. I seem to recall discussions months ago. Funny how it happens the EXACT same day Bank of Canada governor David Dodge [yes, a distant relative of the auto family] raised interest rates 25 basis points bringing the rate to 3.0% in direct contrast to U.S. 1.75%, or is that 1.50%. So much rate whacking happening I lose track these days. Interesting times, indeed!
