machinehead Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 News report from SeeBS MarketHype (Allen Wan): "Natural-gas futures jumped again Tuesday amid concerns that cold weather will prompt a shortage of the heating fuel. Gas for March delivery surged $2.102, or 23 percent, to $11.239 per million British thermal units." INcredible. Like the gold spike on 21 Jan 1980.
GregFokker Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 QQV is negative. There is NO FEAR on the QQQ.

machinehead Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 MH, Someone is caught in a huge short squeeze on the near month Nat Gas. This is that last day of trading before being subject to delivery. Yes. Too late to short the March '03 contract, and the out months are backwardated. Whoever got caught short as that contract soared 80% in two days didn't just burn their fingers ... they got their whole arm incinerated.
Oyster Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 position short...yes....but on daystuff I am scalping long.....average here....will not risk too much
phatbubble Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I missed the ever-so-subtle Capitalstool badge Emma's sporting over her left breast pocket. Phat reminds me of Weinerdog (rip?). Graphic + market talent. Phat will help us build a Brave New World. Wontcha, Phat? absolutely. thanks all. just now catching up w/ the thread. oyster almost certainly has a better take on this, but just for the record - for stoolies who can't get their crapeuro on - in 6 months, i've never heard an ounce of disingenuous 'new bull market' horseshit come from emma, or any other crapeuro host....which seems to illustrate one of the subtleties of the term 'parent company', and helps to explain why a prolific stoolie is also a periodic guest. and, of course, accounts for the image title i hijacked from radiohead.
crooked_analyst Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 This ought to be worth 100 points to the upside... Venezuelan policemen inspect the area in front of Colombia`s consulate after a blast in Caracas February 25, 2003. Explosions hit a Spanish Embassy building and the Colombian consulate just a day after President Hugo Chavez, whose self-styled 'Bolivarian Revolution' aims to help the poor, accused the United States and Spain of siding with his enemies and warned Colombia he might break off diplomatic relations. There were no immediate reports of casualties. REUTERS

Guest Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Mousey and others- it appears DA BOYZ are trying to screw you! Curious to see if it has an effect on a day like today, or if a "stick save" in the fucutures pit is in the tea leaves. RESEARCH ALERT-First Albany starts Xilinx as "buy" NEW YORK, Feb 25 (Reuters) - First Albany on Tuesday said it began coverage of Xilinx Inc. <XLNX.O> with an investment rating of "buy," saying the designer of custom microchips is likely to maintain or increase its market share. Shares of Xilinx closed at $22.34 on the Nasdaq Stock Market on Monday. Not to worry my Golden friend they are just helping to corral the sheeple into the XLNX corral for slaughter.

GregFokker Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 The COMPX is showing no loft on this bounce attempted from the lows, and the TRINQ is growing extreme at 4.3, TICK.NQ -304. The QQV is actually negative, down .11 to 39.55, displaying a near certainty in a rally off the lows on the part of the QQQ options market. Yields remain weak, -7.5 bps- a serious difference of opinion amongst the "smart" money.
