Hmmm....not sure this is intraday... in at the ground level....or should I say ceiling......as opposed to many anal cysts out there I say Yen will take the slack over from the Euro.........major Yen strength beginning Longterm. .....Crapvision tomorrow 9:40 CET.....and also live MarketWrap with Nigel and Emma on Friday from London 17:45...... NEW YORK, Feb 25 (Reuters) - First Albany on Tuesday said

it began coverage of Xilinx Inc. with an investment

rating of "buy," saying the designer of custom microchips is

likely to maintain or increase its market share.

 

Shares of Xilinx closed at $22.34 on the Nasdaq Stock

Market on Monday.

Another company bowing out of the quarterly beat by a penny sweepstakes

 

07:38 ET Home Depot beats by $0.03; says will only provide annual guidance (HD) 22.18: Reports Q4 (Jan) earnings of $0.30 per share, $0.03 better than the Multex consensus of $0.27; revenues fell 2% year/year to $13.2 bln vs the $13.00 bln consensus. Co reaffirms 2003 outlook for sales growth of 9-12% and EPS growth in the 9-14% range. HD also stated that, beginning with fiscal year 2003, it would provide sales, earnings and other financial forward-looking guidance on an annual basis only.

Washington Post reports today that the Iraq war is a done deal. UN's only option is to vote to go along or not. Won't make any difference what they do.

 

This could be a lobbying tactic, but even if it is, I think we go in no matter what the UN does. So the war is going to be a nerve-wracking factor for a few more weeks, or so. And, it is a factor. Note the huge leap in nat gas price yesterday. All these energy price increases are defaltionary if sustained for any period of time. Bad for the market, of course.
