Boy Plunger Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 ADTN down 4% -- at least one of my shorts is working. Thinking of adding more CYMI here but the chart looks scary. Fundamentally the stock is toast, bottom of the foodchain, selling to semi equipment guys, worst position in a bad sector. You can have my CYMI- I covered this morning. Look for stock certificates with blood on them.
cyclist Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Should we all mentally prepare for the last hour jam job? Not until we see Oyster's charts!!!!!
Farmer Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Lucy said she would hold the football again for me around three and that this time it really would be different.
speculator Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 seamus, cyclist, why did ustreas stop the 30 year auctions? they've even called some in. rr At the time it did wonders for the refi bubble. Very short term thinking by people who cant see beyond their term.
Oyster Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Oy- Any chance you could downsize the charts for posting? A little too wide. Doc..I am not too sure how to do it...I pdf and send to another server and it emails me back with the link.....automated.......Hmmmmm

TheDeepBlueSea Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 For those curious to learn about physics-based peer-reviewed research on the dynamics of markets . . . Renormalization Group Scaling of Stock Markets is a good place to start. People such as the author above are working on applying well-established techniques of modern physics to predicting the (chaotic) dynamics of the stock market. "Renormalization group" methods were initially developed to describe behaviour of systems with large number of INTERACTing atoms, molecules, etc. as they COLLECTIVEly change state. It's the interacting and collective parts that are key. So it's plausible that they may be able to describe a market with many interacting buyers and seller. Fwiw.
Guest Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Looks like all the Comm IC guys are all going up, AMCC, BRCM, MRVL, VTSS, what a bunch of walking dead...Hope an upgrade from Morgan and Merrill at this stage is a contrarian indicator.

soup Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 JM: should be a sell signal, anytime a bulge bracket shill upgrades a sector, most likley means they have stock to unload. Might have to wait ntil opex is over, perhaps it is some type of option strategy ?
