machinehead Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 One thing to watch during the day is A/D and up/down volume ratios. (currently about 3.2 to 1 and 5.7 to 1, respectively). A/D greater than 3.5 to 1, and up/down better than 9 to 1, at the close would indicate "blast off" characteristics.
DrStool Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 A few glitches to be worked out. please read my first post in this thread. The charts should be updating. I have been sending them up (heh heh) every couple of minutes.
machinehead Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 The U.S. is up 1.5%, but Canada is barely above flat, presumably because gold futures are getting whacked $7 an ounce.
realist Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 Could be good for another 40 NDX points or roughly 1400 on the COMP. In either case, not going to last long and will be another gift for the bears. Target for re-entry on RYVNX would be 59-63.
richmtn Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I'll be adding to my Rydex inverse funds tonight. Thanks boyz.
MrHanky Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 no negative ticks yet on the day.panic buying for the new bull market only.
ArdentGuy Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 Concerning updates in StoolTrading: As Doc said, read his first post this AM. Also, look just below the charts and you will see: 2/18/03 As an experiment in Stooltrading Beta, there will be no half hourly comments today. Comments will be posted on the charts on the fly. I think this will help in fast moving market's like Friday's. We'll see. Pre market and mid day comments will be posted in the Anals. That being said....I already miss those 1/2 hour commentaries.
Oyster Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 The power of ending triangles with throwovers....when it's an upward triangle with a throwover we would say bearish......when it's a downward ending triangle with throwover why did many here say it was a failure and bearish?.......coupled with gann weekly lows I pinpointed immidiately last week at the lows we had the making of a powerful upthrust.......I reshorted a little into close on Friday but was far too early with 843 cleared and stopped this morning........looking to reshort.......
PileDriver Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 To confirm GF's "concentrated buying" theory most of my non-glam dogs are going nowhere fast, some are even down
rog Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 Trading desks on the street are operating with skelton crews due to the blizzard. Stops are being run while market makers have hold times of 3-5 minutes. Looks to me like a fat finger so I am fading it.
fxfox Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 the question is not IF we get a pullback, the question is, what happens THEN? seeing 25.30-25.40 on the QQQ. well, only a few days ago it was something like absolutely sure that we go down hard pretty soon now i hear that the 10-13 cycle could turn up. Hossa! good luck to all!
Guest Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 If this is a simple correction then what would be the c leg stopped dead on 138.2% of the A leg @849. I'm sitting tight for the moment.
Guest Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 Rockhead posted some good charts in T/A
