I'm just saying there are people out there who would. They are called "bools."

If your portfolio has you feeling irregular, for fast, long lasting relief, take a subscribatory. And support your local Stool!

I don't think this is going to stick, at least not all of it. Looks more like first warning shot across the bow.

I thought about. I want to see if the Fed is going to go first.

Noodling around on the AMD rumor this morning, I see that others are confused over the pop yesterday. There was some discussion on IV about the x86 license that AMD has from Intel to manufacture x86 chips and whether or not that license would continue if they got bought out. I don't think that AMD can survive without x86.

If this is just essentially a convertible or secondary, then AMD should be tanking unless this is a prop job or short squeeze.

Companies That Management Can't Fix: AMD

There are certain companies that probably cannot be turned around no matter who runs them. They tend to be in industries where macro-economic trends are against them, like the buggy whip business 150 years ago.

Investors are not likely to get much out of these firms, unless and until the trend that is hurting them is reversed.

Intel is spending $6.5 billion on new plants in Israel and Arizona and $1.0 to $1.5 billion to upgrade an existing 90 nm plant in Mexico, all to manufacture 45 nm chips. This in addition to their existing plant in Oregon. This is the kind of stuff you can do when you're making good profits on your existing stuff so that you can easily finance your future.

Gold getting clobbered too.  :(

In a liquidation event, one can throw out the concept of gold/silver being a safe haven of sorts. Everything gets tossed just as we witnessed back in May, just as we are witnessing today. There is no safe haven except for US Cash... <_<

Fed didn't give him much to work with. $1.5 billion drain. They need to announce another coupon pass, or a surprise late repo.

Yeah, could be... the extreme readings I'm seeing are off the effin charts.

Since everyone and their mother has been expecting a correction, I can easily see everyone jumping on board too fast, we bounce back up a bit, and then we plunge uto the abyss as buyers dry up afterwards.
Thanks, David
