Cassiopeia
Crapvision now reporting the 200 pt drop may have been a "miscalculation" .........go figure, if it was up 200 there would be no questioning it 563579 Such b.s! When Leewhee was posting the 'question' I watched SnPee Futures drop 20 pts in a flash and rebound back. What next, a 'do over'?

Drano
Gee, what an odd coincidence. A few minutes after I posted that question, the IYR puts came back to being fairly valued, with a .30 spread. Of course when I wanted to sell them at what turns out to be the bottom, I would have been hosed to the tune of 2/contract
hokahay
I am so proud of those of you who continued posting here throughout the bull run. You kept your heads. You made money. You kept your sense of humor. You deserved a much bigger audience than you got. You are the unsung heroes. You are the wind beneath my cheeks. 563591 I think the market let a little wind out from between its cheeks, as well

DrStool
If I have puts on a stock, can I exercise them early (without owning the stock) and thus be short the stock? 563577 NO. As far as I understand, there is no exercise on puts. But what do I know. 563592 I would think that whoever gave you that piece of info is mistaken. If you can't exercise it, then it's not an option, is it? What would give it its value?
The End
In the last 30 minutes the down went from 12,100 to 12,300, to 12,200. Used to take 3 weeks to do that. 563566 Remember all the excitement a couple of weeks back when the S&P was in a 3 pt range ??? 563576 Yes.
