Katrina may be "Noise" but even noise becomes a tradeable event if its loud enough to startle the game (AKA day traders) out of the underbrush so that they can be slaughtered by the pig men in thier macintoshes weilding 12 guage shot guns (black box programs)
The obvious play for Katrina was oil and gas disruption and shortage
Particularly as the hydo carbons are showing definite signs of blow of topiness.
Think they will go down after Katrina
Dont think it will effect stocks or bonds

MAKE OUT BANDIT OF THE WEEK
the guy who sold PetroKazakhstan to the Chinese for $5 billion plus
The company was bankrupt when he took it over
Shares 50 cents - sold to the chinese for $55 a piece
Thats a 11,000% gain.
Not bad not bad at all
The truley outrageous profits are always made by the crazy who do outrageous things that sane investors wouldnt do.
If it sounds insane its probably the best investment you will ever make

THEY ARE STILL GIVING THE OIL MAJORS AWAY
The price of oil might have gove thu the roof but big oil still cheap
Chevron 10 times earnings Oxy 8 times earnings
Even if oil goes sideways big oil still needs to appreciate 50-100% to get back into balance with oil prices.
The real market of supply and demand says oil is expensive
But investors cant believe their eyes.
