IMHO, Kerry won all three.

NO prez. has EVER won re-election with the stock market down in his first term. IT has NEVER happened.
NONE of what I type, should be taken as financial advice.

And when you loose control, you'll reap the harvest that you've sown
And as the fear grows, the bad blood slows and turns to stone
And it's too late to loose the weight you used to need to throw around
So have a good drown, as you go down, alone
Dragged down by the stone.

Dow down 87 now. Let's see what it is after the debate.

And after 3 a.m.

The spoos are down one point. Your Dow figure is from todays trading.

Thanks. I thought it was unbelievable, because I was also getting the Spoo down one quote.

Though someday it may not be so unbelievable.

I doubt that highly. In fact It would be impossible, unless the NDX was up huge, at the same time.

???????????

You been violatin' rule #5 again, TE

Never mind, I see what you're tryin' to say..

I think Drano was saying that the Dow being down 87 overnight might no be so unbelievable someday, not that the Spoo would only be down 1 at the same time..

If you saw, eventually what I was saying, Why did you keep the first sentence in the post? It comes off as disparaging.

I know you didn't mean anything by it but, this is an election year.

I think Kerry won because he talked about the issues that matter to people.....

He talked about rising health care and insurance costs..

He talked about jobs...

He talked about education....

He talked about war (a little)....

And many other things...

I think he raised the concerns of many people. If people are unhappy, he is on their side....not that I heard a lot of solutions...LOL We shall see what the polls say, but I think most people have their minds made up right now. Lets see if the news people find something stupid one or each of them said..... Probably some exagerations on the part of Kerry, but we shall see.....

I've been out getting my Car serviced and there is nothing better than to come home and find the futures in the gutter after a great day in the regular session.  Lucky my stop is 1121 and I got a great profit locked, to early to tell whether McHugh is right for now the trend is down.  Two articles caught my attention which shows the gulf between North and South, one good, one bad...."Canada's Budget surplus for the fiscal year came in well over projections by 8 Billion $'s.  The excess has been applied to the National Debt reducing it to a little over 494 Billion $'s."....."The Congressional Budget Office warned the Government is once again approaching the debt ceiling which was raised twice last year,  expenditures of 200 Billion $'s will require the ceiling to be raised yet again."

The real limit is being approached as we speak, but Congress doesn;t want to vote on this before elections.

They will succeed in getting by the next few weeks by reducing cash balances and raiding the federal retirement fund - up to $50 billion. These actions are not illegal, but its unsettling to think that federal retirees will have zero real assets in their retirement account soon.

The $70 trillion debt monster is at work here.

Good points.

I could've sworn that the limit was in danger about a month ago, so they've probably been doing this for a while now. Probably a very long while.

Was thinking about how companies manage their earnings and remembered a story about some soldier that called home asking for sheets and blankets because he has none. Maybe they're in a warehouse but can't be distributed because then the cost goes off the inventory line and onto the bottom line and then washington has to borrow. Those blankets might be backing some asset backed securities.

The end is coming K wave. No doubt. I don't know if it is here yet though. It might very well be (hedging the bet , with that last line). :wink2:

Just watched Fahrenheit 9/11 for the first time. Wish I hadn't. Why these war criminals are still at large is beyond me, as is how any decent person could vote to reelect them. I've lost a lot of faith in my fellow human. Evil all around us.

Kerry dominated the debate.

Now I wonder if The Matrix will find it even necessary to continue propping the market.

Its so over for Bush.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Da Boyz just let go and let the markets crash.........

990N may be on "permanent retirement"...........

85% in the early goin'on MSNBC online poll, thought Kerry won

Moon square Saturn 8:38 am. If they jam it won't be 'til later. I expect a sour opening. Also Moon conjunct Mercury at 10:22 am, would expect that to tie in with this evening's Mercury square Saturn in negativity.

Basically, he looked and sounded more presidential, though his hollow jowls make him look more of a bonesman than red-faced Bush.

Larry King says CNN poll showing Kerry 52% vs Bush 39%

I was pleased that Kerry actually addressed the need for campaign reform.

Here is an article on FACT CHECKS:
http://www.cnn.com/2...heck/index.html

Kerry cited the number of black males unemployed in NY City.
Then Bush says we can bring in aliens to take the jobs that Americans don't want.
Isn't there a disconnect here?

Minimum wage is $5.15/hr. That's $206/wk before deductions.
How can you raise a family on that? Beyond shelter and food, how do they get
transportation and clothe the kids for school?
Bush chose to emphasize the need for education, blah blah blah.

To me, this implies that Americans are poor or lost their jobs because of lack
of education. Thus the victims are the problem.

Kerry did well, but a real clever dude would carve Bush up like a turkey...

MWH hit it on the head....he will take Canadian "flu" drugs but not the other drugs...so many openings...

we could get a relief rally , the fact that Bush didnt stuff up big time might embolden a few....I would hate to be one of Bushs minders...the stress would be unbearable...
