machinehead
The cost of oil of imported oil, when adding defensive costs, must be double the market price by now. Don't worry ... we're printing the money to pay for it. Paper for oil ... money for nothin' ... chicks for free.

bdylan
More fun...... The lawsuit that ends the oligarchs? run for cash By John Helmer July 06, 2004 Posted: 15:00 Moscow time (11:00 GMT) MOSCOW - It used to be said about a fraudster in Australia that he was too crooked to lie straight in bed. Until now, however crooked the Russian oligarchs ? the handful of men who seized control of Russia?s oil and mineral wealth a decade ago ? may have seemed, the lure of their money has overwhelmed the inhibitions of investors, bankers, non-executive directors, and managers from jumping into the same bed. Until now, they had reason to believe they could get in and out swiftly, and make a clean getaway. A class-action lawsuit, filed last week in a federal court in New York, changes these calculations. OK, we need a link to the source here.

Guest
Total Shuts Down Oil in NigeriaBy THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Published: July 6, 2004 Filed at 10:10 a.m. ET LAGOS, Nigeria (AP) -- Energy giant Total's subsidiary has shut down oil and gas production in Nigeria in the face of a threatened strike that raised management fears for the ``safety of life and property,'' a company spokesman said Tuesday. http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/internatio...l-Shutdown.html Well now we know the why about the massive carrier deployment: Remove US citizens from oil producing countries (Bahrain & Nigeria), protect oil facilities, and to guard oil tanker sea lanes. The cost of oil of imported oil, when adding defensive costs, must be double the market price by now. Imperialism by any other name is still imperialism. Would any stoolie go to sea without a compass? Or attempt to Navigate without correcting the compass?
