Class action suit filed against GS. alleges high net worth clients were overcharged and jammed into stocks that benefited other GS business.

10:25am     BUSH: PEOPLE BEGINNING TO SEE U.S. AS IRAQ LIBERATORS

Yeah, who?

Evidently many of us no longer fit the definition of "people".

At least they get to see a sex show when they're in jail. God forbid the day when US citizens just "disappear". It is here already, it seems.

Give 'em a chance...if they're terrorists, hang 'em. WGAS. If not...why keep 'em? Makes no sense, unless fascism is near.

In which case, it makes perfect sense.

10:35am U.S. SUPREME COURT: AMERICANS CAN BE HELD WITHOUT TRIAL

Say goodbye to freedom, liberty and justice as we know it. Now, it's the government against the people. Outrageous.

no one remarked yesterday on commentary i suggested might issue from a re-elected bush admin during 2005.

does this sound plausible coming out of, say, cheney's mouth?

"Terrorism is a contagious infection. Enemy nations may raise hypocritical protests against our measures against the insurgents and cry crocodile tears, but that will not stop us from doing that which is necessary. America, in any event, has no intention of bowing before this threat, rather intends to take the most radical measures in good time....

My firm conviction is that we cannot overcome the terrorist danger unless we use equivalent, though not identical, methods. The American people face the gravest demand of the War on Terror, namely of finding the determination to use all our resources to protect everything we have and everything we will gain in the future.

Total war is the demand of the hour....The danger facing us is enormous. The efforts we take to meet it must be just as enormous. The time has come to remove the gloves and use our fists. We can no longer make only partial use of the war potential at home and throughout the Middle East. We must use our full resources, as quickly and thoroughly as it is organizationally and practically possible. Unnecessary concern is wholly out of place.

The future of America hangs on our success in the Middle East. We are ready to defend it. The American people are shedding their most valuable blood in this battle. The rest of Europe should at least work to support us. There are voices in Europe that have already realized this. Others still resist. That cannot influence us. If danger faced them alone, we could view their reluctance as literary nonsense. But the danger is to us all, and we must all do our share. Those who today do not understand that will thank us tomorrow on bended knees that we courageously and firmly took on the task."

Quod Severis Metes

Your life is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced equation inherent to the programming of the Matrix. You are the eventuality of an internal anomaly, which despite my sincerest efforts, I have been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mathematical precision. While it remains a burden assiduously avoided, it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of control. Which has led you, inexorably, here.
You haven't answered my question.
Quite right. Interesting. That was quicker than the others.

Could be. I had trouble reloading windows here for a little while this a.m.

I checked out those boards last night. The usual mix of CECO fans attacking the shorts, and responses in kind. Blech. At least some of the posters there do put useful info up, like the Barron's article.
Of course I'm caustic!

Phat:

It was perfect...no comment was required because we wouldn't put anything past them.

I've just read it for the first time, Phat.Comment? I'm too gobsmacked to say anything at the moment.

He sounds a bit hysterical but perhaps he reasons that his best defence is offence.

Astounding how many stocks are just sitting totally flat right now...this all feels like the bottom is ready to drop away.

If you see a sharp break to the downside followed by an inexplicable "catch a falling knife" stick save...don't be surprised. They cannot afford to have this market sell-the-news.

I think the RUT is telling us the truth.

If there is no definition for a terrorist, since seemingly everyone who opposes Napoleon is one (oh no, that's right, Kerry is just a Nazi) - and the health of our entire country is dependent on keeping the bubble pumped-up through lies and intervention, and we here continue to attempt to expose the lies...we could surely be branded econo-terrorists. Enemies of the GreenMachine.

In the New Whirled Order, short sellers and truth tellers are the Nazis.
