For Spirit, the robot has pulled up at the base of the Columbia Hills, following a record-setting trek across the landscape of Gusev Crater. Meanwhile, on the other side of the planet at Meridiani Planum, the Opportunity rover is studying science-rich targets within the sloping walls of the large impact crater dubbed Endurance. Both Spirit and Opportunity are in good health. Engineers at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California -- home base for rover mission control -- are now plotting strategies to have the machines . . .

China's economy has grown at a considerably strong pace, and macroeconomic policies and measures introduced to cool certain overheating sectors have had an initial impact, the central bank said in its quarterly monetary-policy report. China's M2, a broad measure of money supply, rose 17.5 percent year-on-year at the end of May, its slowest pace in 18 months, to 23.5 trillion yuan, the central bank said.

Three reasons. First, he uses actual shredded U.S. currency on his canvases. Second, an accompanying note claims that he's mixed some of his own semen in with the paint. Third?and most importantly?his paintings involve unflattering portrayals of George Bush (Clinton, too, but that doesn't seem to be an issue). The accompanying typewritten notes apparently contained what were referred to as "political rants" about money...
