As long as XLNX stays below 29.80 from where I shorted it, I'm sticking with the short but, this morning is rather demoralizing. I was hoping Taiwan Semi wouldn't carry over here that much but, alas. . . .

here are some of the details from TSMC - yes, really 98% this Q but down to 95 next due to seasonality and new capacity already coming online:
TSMC ramping 12-inch fab as 3Q net quadruple
These results are strong, but I do think it's mixed for the semi market as a whole, including equip. When TSMC adds capacity it might mean several other companies who are now outsourcing to TSMC don't. All part of the productivity miracle.

a lot of pumping in the early going, several 4 digit+ tick readings , several in the 11's.
""Pretty bubbleheads preen daily on our financial networks, playing the shill to Wall Street and Washington in order to lure unsuspecting Americans into buying insanely overvalued stocks. The great market exchanges, once prudent arenas of investment where the engine of capitalism traded value for value, have become sham casinos staggering under decades of massive Fed created debt and lurching into oblivion on the greater fool theory. Yet our high level bureaucrats, led by Alan Greenspan, exhort all Americans to consume still more of their seed corn and seek still more fools." N. Hultberg

Just saw on the wires Bush to speak in about an hour. Not sure about what yet.
