oh, don't FRET, Stoolies!!!

why, back in the GOOD OL' DAZE over on AOL's FEARLESS FURcASSters and even over on Crystal Ball why, when everyone? wuz GRUMPY, it often heralded a CIT! Even got to be a bit of a joke. :P

why even Mr TwoScrews let HRFF have it earlier today. :o

Or maybe it's just that MARS is closer to Earth than it's been in 60,000 years this month.

There's a FULL MOON too, ya know.

Keep CLAM!

The BARE is lysdexic.

Which goes a 'long' way to explain his modus vivendi/outlook on life and the markets!

lolol

Oh.

HRFF has THE explanation FUR the blackout:

SUNSPOTS :D :D :D
"The sphinx set riddles for people which they could not solve and the sphinx devoured them." Russian poet Ilia Ehrenberg reflecting years later upon the debacle of the Bolshevik Revolution and civil war

"In any case, experience shows people are unlikely to change their ways without a cataclysm of existential proportions" Meinhard Meigel, German economist and demography expert on his prophecy of a Wagnerian abyss of social and economic chaos

"We believe that here is no easy way out of this mess, and that the chance of a benign outcome, while hopefully possible, is quite low." Comstock Partners 3-17-2005

"Not without a shudder may the human hand reach into the mysterious urn of destiny." Junk email promoting the sale of Valium, Viagra, Soma and Cialis. Of course, we AMERICANS need not WORRY about such CLAPTRAP!!!

"The trouble about myths, or lies, is that those who foster them are stuck with them." Edward Crankshaw

"I don't buy the idea that a crash will come without warning. There are always warnings. All crashes have certain common technical preconditions." Doc (snorjt)

"YOU look IMPORTANT. Are you important, or just....WEIRD?"
"Bob I am" at a political gathering, to HRFF, 9-29-04

"Are YOU C.I.A.???"
"No, I'm not "CIA"."
"Well, you sure LOOK LIKE you're C.I.A.!!!"

Lead singer of the rock band KISS to HRFF at a luggage carousel at SeaTac airport circa 1996

"Unlike you, I use words people can understand." Doc

"America at the moment, with its faith-based currency, faith-based economy and faith-based government, might be a heaven for those who love faith, but it's a hell for those of us that respect evidence." The Daily (W?)Reckoning, circa 9-17-04

"What should be clear at this point is that even huge fiscal stimulus and unprecedented financial excess are incapable of fostering a sound and self-sustaining economic expansion. The paramount issue, today and going forward, is the deeply maladjusted U.S. economy and its increasing unresponsiveness to even enormous yet misdirected financial stimulus. Both the Financial Sphere and Economic Sphere are severely maladjusted." Doug Noland's Credit Bubble Bulletin, Aug 24 '04

"U.S. dollar purchasing power relies almost entirely on the difference between interest rates in Japan and the higher rates in the United States." Warren Pollock, Prudent Bear essay circa 9-04

"What about your replacements? the Children. What do we tell them when the whole thing caves in?" HyperTiger

Not sure why I hang around here anymore. This board is a mess, IMO.

What would you change?

What the....did we just lose another one? Come on people, is it the money or just the pride? I don't get it.

Before I was lurking here, some 6 months ago, I spent a long time lurking on the Longwaves board....some really advanced discussions by some very intelligent, forward thinking people discussing long term economic cycles and trends. But it eventually degenerated into childish bickering and posturing, albeit with an advanced degree vocabulary. It seems to be happening here. Too many fragile egos, too many taking their opinions too seriously.

There's so much to be learned here but the bickering is such a turn off. Kind of reminds me of my earlier relationships. Unlike those relationships, I'd hate to grow out of this board. I'd like to grow with you all.

So please stop with all the drama!

(rant off)

Whether it makes sense or not, the markets have been rising since Oct. The predicted imminent decline being continually postponed. Being "bearish" from a short-term perspective has probably been an expensive experience to quite a few "bears". I can see how tempers would fray.

Btw, how would you differentiate between an real difference of opinion and bickering and posturing. Ad hominem attacks would be one way, don't you agree.

Pee Brain,

Notice the breakout BEFORE the grid fell? hmmm?

thats very interesting indeed. good call. Take a look at SATC. look at the volume. Lots of insider buying. Im in the process of checking it out and have asked a friend to help with an entry point. Im also thinking that the CPST big gap up after hours seems to have a similiar pattern as LNUX did when the volume gap up hit it. I see the difference is that CPST might not be doneyet before it backs off to fill the gap. It seems to me that it should then send a month or so colsolidating upon topping out.

For us long term bears and Get's out alive. :)

Five to one

Yeah, c'mon, Love my girl
She lookin' good, C'mon, One more
Five to one, baby
One in five
No one here gets out alive, now
You get yours, baby
I'll get mine
Gonna make it, baby
If we try
The old get old
And the young get stronger
May take a week
And it may take longer
They got the guns
But we got the numbers
Gonna win, yeah
We're takin' over
Come on!
Yeah!
Your ballroom days are over, baby
Night is drawing near
Shadows of the evening crawl across the years
Ya walk across the floor with a flower in your hand
Trying to tell me no one understands
Trade in your hours for a handful dimes
Gonna' make it, baby, in our prime
Come together one more time
Get together one more time
Get together one more time
Get together, aha
Get together one more time!
Get together one more time!
Get together one more time
Get together one more time
Get together, gotta, get together
Ohhhhhhhh!
Hey, c'mon, honey
You won't have along wait for me, baby
I'll be there in just a little while
You see, I gotta go out in this car with these people and...
Get together one more time
Get together one more time
Get together, got to
Get together, got to
Get together, got to
Take you up in my room and...
Hah-hah-hah-hah-hah
Love my girl
She lookin' good, lookin' real good
Love ya, c'mon

Dragged down by the stone.

NYT: Mortage Markets are Out of Control

[ Registration required.]

Morgenson quote Jim Bianco, whose opinion I respect, as saying that the mortage market is now 125% the size of the US Treasury market (!) and the recent volatility implies that players are having trouble hedging.

Once burned, twice shy. I blew half my trading account in June thinking the top was in. I have learned to wait for a more obvious CIT.
I can't speak for anyone else but myself, but that painful lesson does not make me bitter or hostile towards people who have their individual lessons and wisdom to share. Drama is not a necessary part of an intellectual exchange of differing opinions, IMHO.

I don't why but this weekend's MtoM reminds me of this old joke:

Doctor! Doctor! My friend thinks he's a chicken.

Don't worry. We can cure your friend in a couple of days. just bring him in.

Can't Doc, I really need the eggs.

Go ahead, void the warranty...

sqrt(0.618) = 0.786, Sg's favor number,
There is always a "theoritical" projection, (2098-1108) * 0.786 + 1108 = 1886.

see if 1720 can be surpassed decesively.
