Nothing too exciting happening in the early openers: Kiwis and Aussies flat, Nikkers -0.7% and Sth Korea -0.4%.

Little movement in most Aussie sectors with the exceptions being Miners +2% and Materials +1.7% down to IT -2%.

Hmmm, starting to look like a consolidation for All Ords on the 5-day chart.  Also could be distribution of course.  In the sectors, Miners +2.1%, Materials +1.7% and Gold +1.6% were at the top end with IT -2.9% and Utilities -1% at the other.

Over in Asia, China -1%, Honkers +0.2%, India +0.6% and Nikkers +0.1%.

On to UK/Europe:

China fighting back. First a curtail on auto purchases and now attack on big pharma's shady business practices

http://www.reuters.c...E96G06C20130717

China has targeted foreign firms on multiple fronts in the past few months, although the probe into GSK is the only high-profile, publicly known investigation focused on bribery.

European food companies Nestle and Danone said early this month they would cut infant milk formula prices in China after Beijing launched an investigation into the industry.

Chinese media has been giving the GSK story plenty of attention.

OTOH still the biggest bagholder of trashuries

China’s holdings of U.S. Treasuries (BUSY) rose to a record in May even as net selling by private foreign investors in notes and bonds reached an all-time high, government data showed.

Apparently he was not making enough on his acedemic salary.... and he decided to sell himself to the banksters...

. June housing starts fell 9.9% to an annualized rate of 836,000—the lowest level since August 2012 and far below what economists had expected.
