On the other hand, to judge, condemn others vs offering understanding, education of the issue and even forgiveness if needed, is to me, just plain wrong. I tried but you said it much more eloquently. It should be made into the motto for all stoolies. Together we're a big steaming pile. Individually we're just little turds. Now let's all hold hands and go buy an SUV. But not just yet. As predicted incentives have been ratcheted up to a new high. Me I'm waiting for the 99% off sale. If I'm right, the blip they get from these new incentives will barely be visible on a sales chart. Maybe they'll throw in a truckload of Intels' newest chips. The chip industry will rapidly go down the tubes as the Chinese foundaries come on line. Your next Impala will be built in China. machinehead
Well, the party's over. Now it's time to revert to that all-American pastime of DISHING THE DIRT -- Slash-and-burn celebrity biographer who revealed Sinatra's mother performed coathanger abortions and Lady Di was a pushover, is set to demolish Anti-Christ George W. Bush with Sept. 14 release of Bush Family biography. The biography is obviously unauathorized. It reveals alleged sex offenses against minors by Dubya's father. It reveals the use of the White House by male hookers. It reveals crooked business deals by every member of the Bush clan, including the oh-so-holy first lady, Laura "Round Heels" Bush. It reveals how former first lady Babs Bush is almost a practicing witch. It reveals how Dubya has had a very special friend in the mayor of a Tennessee city, who has has cohabited the Texas ranch many times. It reveals the details of embarassing photographs of Bush that actually caused U.S. Govt. agents to perpetrate the anthrax mailings to destroy the building of National Enquirer and kill photo editor Stevens. It reveals how you can get surprisingly close to America's Darth Vader. It reveals the incredible relationship between Dubya and some famous televangelists. It reveals intimate details gleaned from persons close to Bush in Crawford, Texas. It reveals the filth of Bush's ancestors, the most shocking family in US history. It reveals how Bush plans additional wars for oil, under the pretense of fighting terrorism and defending Israel -- these are just pretenses, the real reason is we are running out of oil. It reveals Dubya's oedipus complex with Babs, his love/hate relationship with his father, some surprising medical details about Dubya, including an explanation of why he is so burnt out. It reveals who runs Bush, and it is not Round Heels. It reveals murders committed by the Bush family. It reveals why George W. Bush is the greatest threat the US and the world has ever faced. This book makes Fahrenheit 9/11 look like pablum. It is real raw meat. Have a nice day, Mr Pez ...

Bearbones
AP Exclusive: Chevron Influenced Schwarzenegger Reorganization Plan, Made Large Contributions SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's ambitious plan to reorganize almost every aspect of state government was influenced significantly by oil and gas giant ChevronTexaco Corp., which managed to shape such key recommendations as the removal of restrictions on oil refineries. Chevron, whose officials acknowledge they lobbied hard to get their ideas in the report, is one of about 20 companies that paid to send the governor and his staff to this week's Republican National Convention in New York. On Wednesday, Schwarzenegger attended a closed-door meeting in New York with representatives of those companies, including Chevron. And just three weeks after the governor's office released the 2,700-page reorganization report, the company gave $100,000 to a Schwarzenegger-controlled political fund. Environmental watchdogs and local agencies that regulate some of Chevron's operations complain that they had no such access, and that their counterproposals appear nowhere in the massive report. http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/040903/schwarzenegger_chevron_6.html

Hiding Bear
Below - An analysis of the effect of tax cuts without even a mention of the huge and growing budget deficits. The quote attributed to Cheny "deficits don't matter" has permeated the thinking of Wall Street. In the Bush Years, Government Grows as the Private Sector Struggles Published: September 3, 2004 The New York Times BIG government is back. And while that fact may not have been heralded at Madison Square Garden this week, it is largely responsible for the best long-term economic statistic that Republicans cited. By one measure, President Bush has presided over a reversal of the trend to smaller government that began nearly 30 years ago. That measure is the share of wage and salary income that comes directly from governments, and its rise has helped keep the economy growing. http://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/03/business/03norris.html The trillion dollar baby: Left unanswered was how Mr. Bush would finance the transition costs to a new system of private accounts. Those are estimated to exceed at least $1 trillion over the first decade, depending on how much of the payroll tax is diverted to the new accounts. The cost derives from the fact that current workers' payroll taxes finance current retirees' benefits; any funds that workers divert to their own accounts must be made up somehow to pay their grandparents' benefits now. Mr. Bush didn't say how much of the payroll tax should be carved off to create accounts. The White House said in the fact sheet that "establishing personal accounts does not add to the total costs that Social Security faces." It cited the Social Security Administration's past actuarial opinions as support for the statement. But the claim that private accounts wouldn't add to Social Security's liabilities assumes that future economic benefits from encouraging saving and investments would over time offset the big initial government borrowing that would be required to create the accounts. http://online.wsj.com/article/0,,SB1094146...e_whats_news_us

machinehead
The trap is sprung. U-rate 5.4%, lowest since 2001 (this is the one Joe Six watches, and the easiest to tamper with). 144K jobs, PLUS upward revisions of the past two reports. CBNC: "1.7 million new jobs created in the past year." Uh-huh. With another 300K next month, the two million target will be met. The downside: Fed funds futures promptly raised the odds of tightening. Uncle Al now has carte blanche to do another 25 bips, less than 3 weeks from now. "Three steps and a stumble ..."
