Does anyone know how to display posts in the reverse order, for example, the latest post to a thread displays at the top of the thread ... not at the bottom?

TIA

I looked thru the help files on this board and the creator's site but nothing on that.

I read a lot of different computer boards, and I've never seen that option.

When you refresh, do you hit the f5 key (windows)? that way yhyour current position on the page you are viewing is preserved, new posts appear below the last one you viewed.

Let us know if we can help you in any way :)

Hi Anoscope, I have been working on a way to put my java charts on the intraday message board. So far, I have found that HyperSnap, a screen capture program works ok. And not a big problem getting it into My Pictures for an attachment. It also has a nice paint & draw program with it for annotations.

As we don't want real big charts on the intraday board. I tried to scale it down to 50%. A nice size but also lose 50% resolution. And much important info does not come through well. It looks mushy and sloppy. Do you think this is just a limitation of the software? Or might there be a solution? I will show a 50% example

Thank you very much

when you compare your capture to the real java screen are they virtually identical? The background is so dark, that the lines painted on it don't show up.

2 suggestions. try to change the indicator lines and number displays to a brighter color, for example solid red white or red. 2nd is to change the line 'width' to 2 to make it stand out more.

The two images you posted are .gif and that is good, .jpg not needed. When you used the program that resized it, did you select or see a choice to select for 'smart resize' or preferred pixel resize?

if you can state a size, limit the resize to 5 inches wide, and mark the box or menu choice to maintain the original aspect (original dimemsions ratio). that will help make the picture look better.

let me know if I can help more!

When you are in a thread near the top of the screen you will see:

Pages: (2) [1] 2 ( Go to first unread post )

Also you can flip to the last page using these buttons.

One the main message board you will see at the bottom:

Sniff the java charts I use have a mail feature. I mail it to myself. Then save it onto my hard drive. Then add it as an attachment on the board. I get a perfect copy. But I do make sure the original is not tooo big to begin with.

anoscope great thing you got here. Hope it works out. I'll add a link in Night Stool if you wish.

Anoscope,

I have avoided this question for a while out of embarrassment but, could you please explain to me how I can copy a picture from another site and then place it in this post box? I know I have to change jig. to gif. I can't figure it out. Please tell me how?

TIA

I have been trying to post a small image file for the last several days but no luck. The file is only 7K in size and is a .gif file. I have tried to attach the file using the browse window in the attachment section (and set it to the correct file and directory on my hard drive, etc.) When I preview the post, the image does not show in the preview window at all - just whatever text I wrote. I am running behind a firewall, so do I need to set it to allow cookies, etc. What am I doing wrong?

Later, Grot

Anoscope,

I have avoided this question for a while out of embarrassment but, could you please explain to me how I can copy a picture from another site and then place it in this post box?  I know I have to change jig. to gif.  I can't figure it out.  Please tell me how?

TIA

example: I went to www.bigcharts.com and right-clicked the upper left hand image that looks like this

frontpage.gif

then I highlighted the url by click&hold-drag across the url making it all highlighted.

then i changed to this page, hit the IMG button above, and pasted the url into that new popup window, then I hit enter. result is on this page link is/was

http://b.mktw.net/images/logo/frontpage.gif

If you get a red x, it may not work bacause the site doesn't allow remote linking (that is what we are doing, getting an image from another server).

Hope that example is clear :)
