Buy The Rumor, Buy The News

Recommended Posts

No changes.

The most advertised 1991-style war rally is still in play, as perfectly predicted by Cramer, Kudlow, Hans Hans Hans Hans Brinker, and all the rest.

Only in the U.S. Stock market is trading so easy. Buy the rumor, then buy the news.

Every bottom is a real bottom.

Tech stocks are bought before and after good news.

Call buyers are always rewarded around Scam Week, before or after options expiration. Doesn't matter.

The Matrix is managing the tape perfectly according to script.

So far.

Until there is an unexpected Robot Failure.

Still waiting.

Maybe someone can dig up the news stories around the March 2000 top. What triggered the big selloff?

Bob Piss-on-me idiot statement of the day:

"Volume going into up stocks far exceeding volume going into down stocks" ... that would be known as a TRIN < 1.0 Bob <_<

That has been the case at least 75% of all trading days since the "March Low"

March 2000

"Cliggott has been cooling off on the tech sector since earlier this month, and now he's telling Japanese investors that tighter interest rates in the U.S. could dry up liquidity and hit the technology-laden Nasdaq market soon."

Note the key words. No sign of liquidity drying up yet....

Avoid the pain of short selling, where your problem becomes BIGGER, not smaller if you make a mistake.

Get long gold or oil servce stocks. Too much selling, too much fear about another "top" in place.

Be prepared for HMY, GFI, and DROOY.

After a relentless decline, these might be in for a NCEN or CTX style multi-month boner run to new highs.

Looks like the same pattern. A head and shoulders decline that got too heavily shorted, now a massive squeeze will ensue.

Doc:

Remember when MMM broke out? Then reported earnings a week later?

Then collapsed??

Remember SBUX breaking out? Same thing happened.

Could be a repeat with DELL.

Maybe this last boner extension is really one giant "throwover fakeout".

Seem to get a lot of these lately.
