GregFokker
Posted in IDS at 3:30: In the last 30 minutes, a huge red bearish engulfling candle could bloom on the 1 minute chart, spread to the 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 and even daily candle, and drag the Qubes down 2 points. Gold could tack on 15$/oz, and my Q puts could almost triple in value. My self image would swell commensurately, and on the way home tonight, I could stop by the grocery store and take a big position in some expensive organic food to bring home to my squeeze, along with a bottle of wine whose price tag I could ignore. I could fall asleep tonight feeling proud of myself and secure about this and the coming months, about the choices I've made over the past 2 years, about my freedom going forward. Well, it didn't happen, for yet another day. Stooliez, take it away.

longOnUranus
you haf been in za desert too many moons, grasshoppa...I am starting to feel like '99, YHOO, AOL were all stratoshperic and never looking back enough to win any shorts. Bears are still in control, but upside looks limited vs. downside. 'still waiting for my tits-to-the-wall sell signal. Today was....booooorrrrring. Fed dance, EOM dance, Opex dance - 8 or 9 trading days each month belonging to the bulls. Getting REALLY annoyed. Its enough to make me go long. Live the non-introspective, Stimpyfied "happy, happy, happy, joy, joy, joy" life while Rome burns. Al "Oy, have I got ticks for you" Green money-back guarantee and ChiMerc circuit breakers. I am gonna puke. But patience, my grasshoppa...the time will come.

strikerm3
Greg, just an observation and opinion. Trading options on the QQQ is a not very profitable long term. The stock trades way to slow for options. Its also low priced as well. So regardless if it goes up or down 2 points, your almost certain to lose your time value every time.....if I really thought the market would collapse Id go for 60-80 dollar tech stocks. Its a beta thing. Time value premiums are less..... just a friendly opinion from experience.Im sure some could give even better ideas. I think a simple spreadsheet tracked from now would be well worth the time.....I (think) IBM trades pretty close to QQQ but if you did a 1year comparison chart against many in that range you might find a better choice... Yaryman
A sure sign of bad times to come from yesterday's LA Times. "At one point, after long discussions, senior aides persuaded California Governor Davis to cut adult diapers used by prostate cancer patients." http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-cu...home%2Dleftrail Those are the kinds of cuts California is being forced to make because of it's budget deficit. The governor later decided that he couldn't live with that cut. "Davis "woke up the next morning and said, 'I can't live with this,' " Kennedy said. "He was just screaming at us, 'Incontinence supplies! You're talking about people who have had prostate cancer!' " Why in the friggin world do the bulls think job cuts and tax increases by every city, county, school district, and state will lead to an economic recovery? fxfox
just to make my point clear from the blue collar IDS: my problem is NOT that there is an extra subscription service called stooltrading, Doc wants a bit money for that service and thats really ok. My point is: Why must a pay money to read posts from BB, Oyster and some other fellow stoolies? Thats what i dont get. LiveCharts now wants money, all want money, money money money, ok, ok, ok, but please DON'T let me pay money to get allowance to read posts of other stoolies! Gute Nacht <_<

Hey I'm calling for down. http://www.capitalstool.com/forums/index.p...=ST&f=17&t=2413 Gret song Mj Well, I for one would not short a market where NT,OPWV,LU,SUNW and check out LNUX,ARTG....the list goes on and all the other penny stocks are taking off....ewaves havent been a good predictor during OE week. FOM, CSCO.....both good news and BLAST OFF!!! 2 bads and you get your wish. ...When stocks stop going down on bad news then.....pull back = more buying. CSCO should be the real tipper here as usual.....Bush has probably talked to both of them already. bad news from CSCO is a profit taker for sure.. Slothrop
The sudden spurts of mostly tech stocks is not a sign of bullishness. This is what happens near tops. It's speculative excess and indicates the potential hugeness of the sell-off that's coming.

Sphinxter
Gold, Dollar, Gold, Dollar, Gold, Dollar, Gold, Dollar, Gold, Dollar, Gold, Dollar, Gold, Dollar, Gold, Dollar, Gold. They're trying to tell you something. I am so certain of what they are saying, 1 hour ago I ditched my last long holding - the 'family' stock. Almost as bad as selling your mother into slavery, this is the stock of a small upstate NY bank that my grandfather was president of, as was his father, and his father. Talk about an uncomfortable conversation with the family.... It was a tough call. My cost basis is close to zero - got some gains taxes coming my way. Still, I can't see any way around what's coming next. It's going to be brutal for banks, no matter how well run. I have great respect for all you who can go long in this environment. BartTheBear
We'll all know CSCO will beat by a penny. When don't they? It might be a sell the news situation unless they really knock the ball out of the park. I'm sure Chambers will make the company's prospects sound like nirvana. He always does. Might be a good short from $16 or so. Maybe not -just my WAG.
