brian4
Well I missed the last 90 minutes of the market and not much changed. Glad I stayed straddled on the Spoo's other than that every single long i have was up solid-a good day. This looks to me to be the last dance and when it is over I believe the markets will sink to the bottom and stay there for a long, long time. America is ignoring her large and systemic problems and partying like it is 1999 it is so sad to see where it's going.-Huh!
dozer
Sure that isn't a precinct in Gehenna? Unbelievable name for a town! Reminds me of a C.J. Cherryh novel... "40,000 in Gehenna"...i.e. hell-planet. hiya TE ! What's on the tunebox tonight? Tchai, isn't that the weirdest looking option-chain ? I was looking at it the other day....there's a 1,000 open calls at $300 ! And 10,000 puts at $80 and serious open interest up and down the line from 10 bucks to the sky's the limit prices...amazing...

Kind of hoping it goes back to the IPO price... or less....
Drano
Wonder if GOOG will ride the fibonacho rails down from 200 to 100? Stopping at 178, 162, 150, 138, 122 . . . A consummation devoutly to be wished for.

Guest Icky Twerp
ps; just read something which said that the concession-speech is NOT a legally binding deal. not that the matrix would let -anything- disturb the march toward madness...but strange stool does happen from time to time.... pps; tanks Farmer! We'll bring our own hoe and stuff... I'm behind, but I'm posting ahead of myself... Remember the Electoral College. While there are Time-honored customs about how Electors should vote, they are actually Free to exercise their independent tho't & will. That's the only binding legal theorem that matters. wndysrf
Re: GOOG I'd be careful gunning the short side from here. 9000 HedgeFunds are no doubt eyeballing the Nov. 17 lockup expiration. Something tells me that the puts are going to get shafted between now and then. There will be a second chance to short, I think......At somewhat higher prices. Re: Broads The huge calls purchased are going to get shanked prior to OpEx. The Spoos have gone totally vertical, just like the March 2003 blastoff. After a heavy volume surge, there is always a violent and sharp pullback, to scare out the new longs. I think that will happen soon............. Re: Politics The election is over. Nothing we can do about it now, but adjust to the "New Reality" and plan accordingly. Re: Gold, Dollar Maxxi has some great charts at M2M. The move is far from over......... I'm outta here, headed to Big Sur. You guys stay civil to each other this weekend.............

Hiding Bear
$80 Oil, Here We Come!!!by Bill Powers, Editor Canadian Energy Viewpoint November 4, 2004 In January of this year, I put together an article that appeared in the February issue that laid out the case for and against $50 oil. While the arguments against $50 oil have been thoroughly discredited, most market observers still do not understand that the price of oil will continue to head much higher. In this issue, I will examine several of the reasons why the price of oil will not significantly pull back from today?s levels and is likely to reach the $80 mark within the next 24 months. At the foundation of many oil anal cysts? argument for lower oil prices is the belief that OPEC can control the price of oil and use its spare capacity to keep the price within acceptable limits. There is one main reason this line of thinking is not valid -- OPEC has no spare capacity whatsoever. OPEC, or more specifically Saudi Arabia, has given several indications over the past two years that it will increase production to keep oil prices at palatable levels, yet we continue to see oil prices reach new highs. http://www.financialsense.com/editorials/p.../2004/1104.html
brian4
As the $ falls, the American consumer will buy less cuz he has to make choices. The price of imported goods will keep rising and since the U.S. is de Industrialized and makes squat the consumer will consume less and less adding to the $'s fall. On the other side those countries who currencies will appreciate will see there wages rise which in turn stimulates their own consumption. That increase in domestic consumption should off-set most of the loss from lesser exports to the U.S.. With the phoney Trade issues that have been levied against Canada, Europe, Japan and Mexico etc by the now newly re-elected Administration there are a lot of Countries out there who are not about to throw Bush a life vest unless it has an Anvil on the end.
