aussiebear
Green for a change. All Ords +1.1% with the best performing sector being REITS +3.2% followed by Utilities +3% and Healthcare +2.5%. Miners are the only red sector, down a modest -0.1%. The big miners are a bit wishy-washy: BHP +0.1% and RIO -1.4%. Golds are looking stronger: Newcrest +0.8%, Lihir +7.1% and Newmont +1.2%. Oils trying to regain some of their recent losses but looking a touch jaded: Woodside +1.5%, Santos +0.4% and Caltex +2.6%.

I saw in M2M that Profunds were potentially risky. Please let me know if there are any links to more information on this and other ETF providers especially Profunds who runs Proshares (SDS, SSO, etc). Thanks

astral mike
UK Jobless increased by 5% in 3 months is that alot ? The number of people out of work in the UK rose by another 81,000 between May and July, to 1.72 million, according to government figures. That took the official unemployment rate up from 5.3% to 5.5%. The number of people claiming jobseeker's allowance also rose, by 32,500 to 904,900 in August, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said. In a further sign of the economic slowdown, the number of people in work and the number of vacancies both fell.
