Anybody want to send a condolence card to Dick Cheney?

"NEW YORK (Reuters) - Halliburton Co. (NYSE:HAL - News), the world's second-largest energy services company, on Tuesday warned it expects to record additional operating losses of $200 million, or 46 cents a share, in the second quarter related to its Barracuda-Caratinga project.

Houston-based Halliburton said it will record a $310 million pretax charge related to the deepwater oil project in Brazil, citing higher cost estimates and schedule delays. The company also said it will take a $615 million after-tax charge, or $1.40 a share, after negotiations with insurers resulted in reduced asbestos insurance recoveries. "

OR- Lester Pearson had two consecutive minority Governments and both lasted full term Joe Clark had one that lasted 3 months- this one will last full term. He is close enough to a majority to receive support from other parties on most issue's.

Re- the Oil Sands-there is way more than a 50 year supply, way more. Right now there 9 new expansion projects underway, all are consortiums of Canadian Companies-the Latest being "True North Energy" who just raised 30 Billion $. 5 of the 9 will be up and producing in the next 2 to 5 years. It's interesting that the only multi national who is a player in the sands is Royal Dutch. ;)

Yup, I think you're right Brian. But hopefully the threat of non-confidence will stop them from getting too ambitious on any particular issue. Seems like we Canadians voted for the status quo last night.
