MyGoldenStool
Whoa! Public debt finally cracked the $7T mark. Did so after 'languishing' at the 6.915 mark for about a month. Looks like another one of those "let the bills pile up until the new year" kind of maneuvers. To paraphrase Zappa - "moving to Argentina soon ..." http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/

An Ant
If the first day of January is down, then the year as a whole is likely to be ________. Does anyone have the research on this? I have heard as goes January so goes the year and January goes by first 5 days. Don't know about 1st day. Of course the day is not over yet. And since Nov 02 no such theories seem to have worked. Goldmember
They have to break Monday's lows before I think this anything more than the expected profit-takers waiting for the new year to lock in gains, especially with many of the heavy-hitters still on holidays. Next week will be a very interesting story indeed. I am still of the persuasion that this will be stick-saved and conform to a cycle picture I have laid out as before. The 5-day cycle bottom will be interesting as to its final price point. I still think the 13-day high will be much higher from here, and then it's over.
